The thing is that the Vikes run game does not scare me. The passing game could get 500 on us.

I think it's going to come down to pass rush. Cousins will likely hold the ball longer than Tua did in week one and as long as they don't do something stupid like have single coverage on Jefferson most of the game like they did on Hill then they have a chance to get some sacks this weekend.

You haven’t followed this franchise very long if you think John Spanos would hire coaches like Bellichik or Harbaugh.

Look at history. He doesn’t hire anyone that would threaten his control and those two coaches are at the apex of that category.

And then there’s the money issue. The common denominator is the coach has to be inexpensive.

Florio took some heat on this forum for those comments...but he DOES have a point...it seems like there really IS always something (wrong) with the Chargers...

When talking about the the Spanos's I am reminded of Logan Roy's quote to his kids in Succession:

"You are not serious people"

Anybody can make money as an NFL owner but it seems you need a serious owner to have a successful NFL franchise

lol, this is what an intelligent coach would do..... but the opposite of what our coach did to Hill..... who they left 1 on 1.....all game long!... even after he had 200 yards!.... lol

We need proven winners, not experiments or rehashed losers. And we don't need another "players coach".

The reason the Spanos's always hire cheap coaches, is because coaching money comes from his profits..... its not part of the REQUIRED salary cap..... if it was we might have an expensive coach and cheaper players..... but its not....

After salary cap requirement, Spanos spends the least that he is allowed to..... When Reid was available years ago, Chargers never considered to interview him because of the $$$$$....

and we let KC have him..... and he has dominated us no matter what QB he has..... because he out coaches the scrubs the chargers hire.... same way Bellycheat has.....

if Staley did that with Hill.... and chose to never change that approach even as Hill was approaching 200 plus yards......

Staley is stubborn..... he rotated CB's last week because he had no clue what would work and allowed 2 nobody WR's to beat us deep.....

most forget that Stupid Staley stupidly played all our starters for 3 quarters in last meaningless game last year and lost MW for the playoffs.....(and his excuse was he did not have a choice) then defensive genious gave up biggest playoff comeback and lost playoff game to Jax.... those 2 incidents alone should have got him fired.....

Belichick is used to having power over personnel decisions as well as HC duties in New England. Why would he come to the Chargers with this ownership situation?

It’s gotta be a buy in from the Spanos. Ownership has to let him do what he does. Jerry Jones did this with Bill Parcells.
