I agree QJ has not seen targets due to having very good veteran WRs in front of him. But now he has to step up, or not. If he's not ready to do what Puka Nucua and Tank Dell have been doing, it doesn't mean he's a bust. But it does mean though that he was over-drafted.
I still say that Herbert has a trust issue with him. On that play we've all seen when Hebert makes a difficult throw to KA in the corner, QJ ran uncovered down the middle of the field to the end zone. There's no way Hebert didn't see him. It wasn't a case of QJ not being open when Herbert looked at him. He was never not open. For some reason Herbert didn't take the easy TD, he went for a more difficult throw to KA that was a good gain but it wasn't a TD. It could be that Herbert right now is over-reliant on KA. That has to change. Herbert has to start throwing to QJ when QJ is open. If QJ is plagued with drops or balls deflect off his hands for an INT, then he's not ready and maybe Fehoko steps up or Guyton returns.
You are the one who said repeatedly during TC that QJ was going to start dominating from day one, that he was quickly going become WR1 or at least WR2, that he was going to out-perform Josh Palmer. He's going to have his opportunity to prove you right.
Now with Dub out, i expect he accelerates. I don’t agree that a first round WR taking one year to become established is a waste, it depends on the roster and situation. He wouldn’t be the first WR to emerge in his second year. They drafted him after a complete WR implosion after injuries last year and knowing they have too much $$$ of cap in 2024 tied to WRs, but they still practiced all 2023 camp for Slayer and Dub to be the top 2. but thats just my opinion vs your opinion.
MIN blitzed almost every play, Herbie was taking his first open read and throwing in 2.3 seconds. You can read what you want into that, I don’t think you’re right but neither of us know. I don’t think it’s easy to see every receiver in every corner of the field when the defense is blitzing 5 and 6 every play and you have 2 seconds to not just decide but get the ball out of your hand as you seem to think. I’ve never played NFL QB so maybe it really is easy and you’re right?
Naw - it’s fucking hard as all hell and Herbie was brilliant last game and I think you’re being critical of a pass offense that gained well over 400 yards and won.
Q deflected passes for INT? Thats weird as Herbie hasn’t thrown an INT yet. You’re making stuff up … have fun.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

I can’t promise I was 100% consistent though so feel free catch a different statement. It doesn’t matter.
