NO TEAM is going to win big-time games and have any aspirations of a championship with a guy like this as your MAIN running back. He'd be spectacular as a strictly 3rd down type.

People that cant see this probably own an Ekeler jersey and cant see past their fandom.
In todays NFL you don't win games by running the football. You can salt the game away in the 2nd half by running out the clock through the ground.
You can also run the football to keep the defense honest which is important and of course in cold or windy weather where passing becomes difficult.
But it's the passing game that wins games. The day of the bell cow RB is over. Most teams now use 2 or more RBs to spread out the load. The teams
that use a RB for 300 attempts per year will burn the player out in 5 or less years. Thus RBs are not coveted.

Ekeler is now 30 years old, that's when RBs start to go downhill. He's also on his last contract here. So we best look for a replacement and complement
    to Kelly.

Exactly. That's why it's criminal of TT not to have secured someone like Jacobs for all of these years. That's not a knock on Ek, I love the guy and what he has contributed to this offense.

Teams who zig when everyone else is zagging tend to win. If I built a team today Id go back to power run game and play action with Herbert. Everyone has light coverage LBs and nickel corners. Id run it down their throats.

Jacobs is averaging 3.1 ypc this year. Is it Jacobs or the lousy Raiders O line?

The line sucks, the offense is dysfunctional, Jimmy is dreadful, everyone just got fired and Jacobs is another case of a holdout taking a bit of time to round into form after missing all of pre season

Can we stop the narrative that last years NFL rushing champion, a former first round pick, is not better as an early down back than what the Chargers have??

There are 32 teams in the NFL. How many Jacobs are there?

Didn't we draft Mathews and Gordon in the first round? They were OK for a few years and then bust.

Sorry you're right. He'll be 29 in May of 2024.

No you won't. That will work for approximately 6-7 games. The 49ers are a top if not the top running team in the NFL. They have now lost 3 in a row because they cannot
run the football consistently against good front 7 teams. The NFL adjusts and that's why QBs cost an arm and two legs. RBs next to nothing.

I wouldn't go that far. HOF RBs are gonna get paid but they are a lot more rare than top 10 QBs

Donald Parham legally picked Bears CB Jaylon Johnson on the Simi Fehoko TD. It was a double crossing route with Parham and Fehoko going in opposite directions. Parham's big body jammed up Johnson without it being a flaggable pick. Another way Parham's size can benefit the offense. Fehoko was a 5th round pick in the same draft as Josh Palmer btw.

Jacobs was the best RB last year. The Raiders F tagged him refusing to give him a long term contract.
Henry was shopped around, no takers. Who is getting paid?

If they are that rare, how do we get one?

We have a scat back. Why are we running him into the teeth of the D line? Is that the fault of the RB or the Oline, the OC, the GM?
