The difference in the game was that the Charger D, after giving up 300 yards in the 1rst half, could not stop the Lion's offense in the 2nd half:

They could not stop us late either..... its amazing how every time KA was sent in motion, and the announcer said the ball was going to KA, he always got open and herbert threw him the ball after faking another direction.....

The easiest and weakest thing to do is bash the HC after any loss. If Staley is a fraud then Dan Campbell is a fraud too who happen to win by a FG today.

FWIW. Campbell is 6 games under .500 and never made playoffs.

You are what your record says you are both current season and career. Campbell has yet to make playoffs or reach 10 wins, meanwhile Staley has done both already. But Dan is in good shape this year. Good for him.

There are too many good teams in the AFC for a 9-win team to get in the playoffs. It's going to take 10 maybe 11 wins to get in. 11 teams in AFC have .500 or better records. The Chargers aren't one of them. The Chargers will have win 6 or 7 of their remaining 8 games. I don't see it happening.

It has to be very obvious to the Spanoses that Staley is holding this team back. He was supposed to make this defense special. He's done just the opposite, with some of the highest paid players in the game on the defensive squad. Why not just fire Staley now, and let ST Coach Ryan Ficken take over as interim HC. Let Derrick Ansley and his staff take over the defense. Ansley couldn't be any worse, and what do you want to bet the defense would instantly be better?

I don't see any risk firing Staley now. I only see upside. Do no the Spanoses see this too?

agree...... but its more than that..... look at the words/phrases Staley uses: "we're connected".... the players are "expressing themselves"..... no football player understands those....

No football coach talks like that..... only extreme "woke" politcally obsessed people say those kind of things..... where are the words tackle, block, violence..... like tyou would hear from the steelers coach?????

There is no risk there. It's generally not Spanos style. I would love the move though to signal a culture change is coming.

Staley will be perhaps a position coach for Fangio in Miami next year,
or he'll go back to college ... his days as an NFL DC are over.
Maybe he can fake out some college administrator as gullible as the Spanos.

Campbell will be the Lions head coach next year.
