But I think there is a way to voice displeasure and still be a fan that is supportive of the team and still likes the team. This group of posters seems so wrapped up in their bitterness that they have forgotten what brought them here in the first place. They don't seem to have much perspective.
So my issue isn't with anything being done or not being done by the staff. My issue is with the posters themselves. I'd like to think they could police up their own ammo and frags. But if they can't, I for one, will try to be 'the good parent' for these bitter souls. If we all pull together, maybe we can end this terrible affliction.
Not sure if you're lumping me in with "that group," but that's fine. Like BVMS said, fan anger is not real life anger. That being said, I can understand how reading Spanos/Chargers bashing posts all the time can get grating, especially with the start of a new season on the horizon. I don't want that to take away from anyone's enjoyment of the board, and certainly not to the point where they would call this place "trash, shit." So I'm happy to tone that back if it would help decrease any of the complaints you got, Fleet. Half the time I'm being facetious anyways.
Back to your original question, Fleet - this place is awesome. We all owe you a debt of gratitude for maintaining this place and allowing us to have an excellent community. Not sure who/what the complaints are about, but you'll never be able to please everybody.ESPN Screename: GoBolts02

I'll also add that I've learned, and continue to learn, a shitload of info not only on football but on other things like city politics as well from some very knowledgeable posters, some whom I butted heads with. But I respect everyone here and I try to remember we're all Chargers fans first.Life is too short to drink cheap beer

I can't take all this Chargers drama too seriously. FLEET's right. It gets emotionally burdensome at times - for me - dealing with the repercussions of our owners (and sub-owners) incompetence. So I simply check out for a spell to rejuvenate. Just the nature of the beast. At least it gives us something to talk about though. What if we were all Patriots fans. We'd be bored silly with wins stacked upon wins. What fun would that be? ha As much as I hate to say this - and I really do - I think we need conflict in our lives to make us sharper. Did I really say that? Except you can't expect me to remember what my username is!
2. I have a really hard time trying to remember my username. Fortunately I post so often that I can quickly look up who I am.

This is my favorite site on the internet. Really, it's the first place I go when I log on whether in season or not. As an out of towner I get a lot of information from this site and not just about the Chargers. I love the music thread and thanks to OIP, Coach and my music soulmate Mister Hoarse's suggestions, I have discovered some great bands for myself. To me, this site is not just a forum, it's a real community sharing thoughts, ideas, experiences, memories and sometimes even sympathies. Don't change a thing.
Just like any community, we are not all gonna get a long with regards to everything and yes some of it does get tiring but unfortunately that is the current state of the one passion we ALL share together, the Chargers. This state of this team and organization are struggling and naturally this will be reflected in our interactions, positive and negative. That is why we are all here...we have a commonality in our unhealthy obsession for these losers and that is the tie that binds. It is great to have that place to go and vent, celebrate, learn and connect and this is that place. I have been fortunate enough to travel to SD and to road games and tailgate with many of you in person (I even had season tickets with Q one year...yeah, I know..Q!) and some of you I would even consider friends (looking at you Paul, Jim, Chris, etc.).
This place rocks. THANK YOU and don't change a damn thing!I'll ride the wave...where it takes me.

i think this board is ran well. Fleet, you did a great thing saving the board and giving several folks a place to migrate to. It's regularly available and you consistently make updates and ask members what they think about potential changes.
There is a group of members that do most of the posting. They seem to be pretty tight knit and care about each other. And i find that there isn't much discussion about football. Lot's of one liners and antagonizing each other. I am not really part of these groups so i don't really read much on here.
i guess to summarize, it's a great board for a small group of folks to converse about non football (X's and O's) topics. And i can either part take or not (my choice). If i want to look elsewhere, that is on me. The folks here seem happy. So, i would say the site is in good shape.
And thank you for making it available.

This forum is the ONLY reason I still follow the team. How ironic is that?
Look, I'm on my way out. I've been posting here/Panama's board/other Charger forums since 1997. I've made a couple of friends (bringing my total to 3, counting my wife). The Chargers are, and have been, a source of quite a bit of heartache over the years - Is that not true for everyone? - and I'm getting to the point where it's just not fun following them anymore. Trust me, and be patient; soon, you won't have to deal with my shit anymore. The only poster who really seems to be bent out of shape about it is BKR. The rest seem to do what he seems incapable of doing: Ignore all my posts.
The mods can ban me. I would respect that (what choice would I have? LOL!), and my life would be the same. The Chargers are an EXTREMELY small part of my life, and shrinking by the minute. But...damn it!...I've shed enough football tears since 1980! And I've earned the RIGHT to bitch about it!

I was feeling optimistic about this season after the draft. Was feeling even better after Carson was escorted to new heights and then shoved off of a cliff to its death. Then this Bosa thing hit. And then you got the uncertainty with the stadium vote coming up -- with undefined parameters of victory until an unaccountable body of robed dorks hundreds of miles away can deliver their worthless yet defining thoughts on the issue. So the possibility exists for some of us that this may be the last year of watching football after investing decades of commitment. It's hard to see the glass half full right now with all this uncertainty. Just waiting for the season to start to see what we have.
Oh, and I think the mods do a fabulous job.
