The subject of QJ's drops has come up before, and I've posted that his drops, though frustrating at times, still fall within the average range for a receiver in the NFL. His 5 drops in 2024 rank 65th among receivers. So there are 64 receivers worse than him. Of even more concern to me is the high number of incompletions, especially on sideline routes. The majority of QJ's completions are on crossers and slants. Get QJ out into space, and he is tough to defend, and gets some nice YAC. However, on contested catches, that's where his glaring weakness is. As he is, I think he's a bit one dimensional...I'd like to see him expand his effective route tree with separation and a higher completion percentage.

Unfortunately, last year they were forced to use him where this year they hopefully shouldn't have to.

I think QJ's problem is that he is limited in the things he does well.

That will be an issue for him in a much deeper WR room with players who bring more varied skill sets (KLS) and players who bring what the Chargers need most to create space for Ladd ( Harris and Williams at X )

All 3 of the new WRs ....Williams, KLS, Harris also catch the football better and are much better at contested catches than QJ

Yes I’m glad you see that. I’m talking about Adam’s at Fresno State. Harris will get stronger. Both were second round picks. I think he’s a great route runner like Adams. They have the great skill of planting and cutting making that juke move to get open. Not every player can do that. Jefferson’s great at that. Justin Jefferson is great at that.


I like his hands. Those are traits that I see as a pro bowl receiver. I think the Chargers got a player who might be better than Matthew Golden as an overall prospect. It’s a great draft pick.
