Agree. Fans are always much higher and lower on certain players than the coaches are. Harbaugh and Hortiz did not draft QJ so they do not have any loyalty in him and he'll have a shorter leash, but he is still on his rookie contract so is relatively cheap. I have a hard time seeing him not make the team.

Same as trade for Henderickson lol. That's not going to happen.

I really do not care is they trade QJ or not. Depends how they all look in camp.

Is that another way of saying he will take 3 seasons to develop because someone keeps using his first two seasons as an example of why not to give up on QJ.
Steve Smith, Sr., Vincent Jackson, Julian Edelman, and Nico Collins are other examples of wide receivers who were less productive in their first two years than Johnston has been so far. Terrell Owens didn't make a Pro Bowl until his fifth season in the NFL.

Am I predicting Johnston will be as good or great as any of them? No. No more so than I'm predicting that KeAndre Lambert-Smith will knock Johnston off the team.

I know that rookie signings aren't that big of a deal anymore, but it appears that only Omarion Hampton and Tre Harris remains as unsigned. Any news coming out of Rookie Mini-camp?

1st and 2nd rd picks are the biggest cap hit, it may be connected to a veteran signing as we need to manuver the cap.

Huh, normally I notice every rookie signing - I havent seen or heard about a single signing this year. I guess I need to get out more.

I saw Shemar Stewart is refusing to participate in team activities until he is signed.

Jerry Rice had some brutal drops as a rookie.

Whoever it all shakes out, we will have a better WR room, with diverse skills.
                  We play modern Harball.

Rice is an example of the mental part of the catch - i know people love talking about the Juggs (sp?) machine here, but most of the worst drops are about focus (looking up field too soon, etc.) rather than the WR's hands.

in QJ's case, he does not have good hands to begin with, but it is the focus issue that creates the horrible "cut him on Monday" drops.

edit: but i am still rooting for QJ to make more improvements this year. especially with the focus part.
