Ingold certainly doesn't have the classic FB frame, like Daryl Johnston or Lo Neal.

I never really paid attention to how he played the game while he was with Miami, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it is that he gets the job done.

Okay, this inspired me to look up some Alec Ingold highlights.

I didn't even remember that he had played with the Raiders. He looks bigger in those highlights than in the more recent clips.

After viewing the vid, I'll say *this* for him: He catches well, and is a really strong finisher.

I thought he could be like Kyle Juszczyk but with an easier name to pronounce and spell. Juszczyk is similarly proportioned to Ingold.

Chargers beat KC and Denver with Alt/Pip, and started out 3 - 0 ... nothing to believe there success wouldn't have continued.
As was, they were a home victory against Houston away, to then meet Denver for the #1 seeding in the AFC.

By your very definition there Boltnut, Pip is most likely an above average NFL OT .... but all you really need is a solid NFL OT, most teams being stuck with an OT among the bottom half of starters.
New England's LT was raw crap the 2nd half of the season, and New England made it to the Super Bowl.

Cut Pip if Burke proves he is ready ... sure.

Pipkins ended the season with a 47pff grade. That's well below average.
New England played the Broncos without Nix @QB in the AFCCG. Broncos win that game with Nix @QB.
The SB winning Seahawks had a pair of good OT's.

Pip has played RT well at times. I don't recall any good games at LT.

Which is true, and also means that Pip is not much of a swing tackle .... but given that Alt can move easily to LT and still dominate, it will be good enough.

Maybe the Patriots if the rookie Campbell rebounds. If one of their tackles goes down... the other tackle is good enough to hold their own with no help. They would undoubtedly help the replacement tackle with TE/RB chips.

Luckily, we have the best duo tackles in football... if one goes down, we can insert Pipkins and protect him with TE/RB... which is what we did. Pipkins is below average... and I never meant to insinuate otherwise.

Right now it looks like 9 OL to me:
OT's: Slater, Alt, Pip, Burke
OG's: Slaughter, Strange, Awosika, Penning
OC: Biadasz
It leaves us thin @Center... but Slaughter could slide over if Biadasz gets hurt.

Yes, Slaughter slides over ... they are probably deeper than ever there. With Awosika, or Penning, or one of the rookies as your backup guards .... OG depth anywhere from okay to horrendous.

Pip played well at RT in those years, thats why he has the contract he has. I have to discount 2025 as the Gro/Devlin shitshow OL where nobody on the OL could do anything right: I look to Occam's Razor - when 5 guys all cannot do anything right, I tend to look for a simpler reason.

I understand he's not a desired starting RT but I'm very comfortable with him as proven backup RT vs what the rest of the teams have on their bench (for the most part). He's not overpaid if he is needed - thats what backup proven RTs are paid for. I am 100% certain he is on the roster come September (absent injury).
