My guess is that MW will be X and QJ will be Z. Ladd will line up mostly in the slot. Having MW will allow QJ to play to his strength. I don't think QJ will be competing with MW for the X. I'm also guessing that Rice will be competing with MW and likely a draft pick for the X. I don't think Rice will beat out MW by any means but if he plays better, he might rotate with MW with MW getting the bulk of the snaps. I could be wrong though.

I'm with you on this. No matter where MW will be (wr 2-3-4) we need a back up. Rice ? QJ ? draft choice ?

Day 3 pick 125 and beyond? Some of the better WR's on the board day 3 are probably the likes of Tai Felton, Pat Bryant, Issac TeSlaa, Jaylin Lane, Nick Nash, Ricky White, Kaden Prather, Roc Taylor.

Of these to me the two potential gems are Kaden Prather and Roc Taylor.

thanks for the info. i was just wondering if there is any bad blood with the chargers/Herbert. hopefully not.

the draft boards keep fluctuating - it seems possible that Golden might still be around at #22. however, picking up Keena would not mean we can't make that move. we would have a loaded WR room - with not much cap space invested in it.

there are so many directions to go in at #22 - and a lot depends on who falls to us (Golden? Loveland? EDGE?).

YES! He would be a good 4th round pick gamble and could develop into a potential weapon for Herbert!

I don't think he was ever on the PS. He was back 50's roster, inactive on game day most weeks, got in a couple snaps, then IR'd. I'm very much in a show-me mode on him, lets hope coaches saw a lot more in practices that just didn't show up on the field in his very limited opportunities. I can't bet that Rice is an answer to a 2025 question, if we get something its just bonus imo.

I don't recall what they put him in IR for but they can go on for 8 weeks and return. But I'd be guessing how it went down from there. I really don't know.

Teams can designate 8 IRs for return in the same season max. Not sure how many they used, it wasn't 8. They didn't give him that designation

Picking up Allen before the draft would be a terrible use of resources. Post draft, if you have the need, sure. But if you sign Allen and TMac drops to 22 and he is ranked high on your board, character checks out, you either draft him or you pass on him and take another player but if you draft him, now you have WR where there are only so many snaps to go around. And in this scenario with Allen and TMAC added to Ladd, QJ and MW - who is playing Special Teams snaps like Kassim Osgood role? Not Darius Davis. If you pass on him, Allen is still only a one year player at this point in his career

So pragmatically, the feel good story of Allen, for me, doesn't make sense today. Ask me in four weeks post draft, I might have a different answer.

I like Teslaa as well! Could he develop into the X WR they need in 1 year behind MW is the question.

I think they will be looking for elite separators with good to great hands. So the another question is, who are those WRs in this draft from round to round?
