Who would you sit: Dissley or Gadsen? Or lots of 3 tight end sets, with 2 receivers .... Allen/QJ sitting.

Why is everyone eager to trade away Niko Reed: he's a young cb with promise .... and they ain't easy to get.
I like Reed, but if he were the piece necessary to close the deal on obtaining a needed player? I'd accept that. Who's the other UDFA CB they have who showed well in camp? I think his name is Eric Rogers.
The club's depth at CB is the only reason Reed is being tossed into the trade compensation discussion. I consider this a good problem to have.

I agree with you, only give up more 2026 draft capital for OL or Breece HallOriginally posted by Jack Burton View Post
I wouldn’t trade a pick from this years draft for Andrews. 2027, sure though.
I would only trade a pick from this years draft for RB Breece Hall or a starter on the O line.
Also, KC and NE are purportedly looking into Hall too. Do not like.

Agreed! If he shows up again against a much better run D. If he does well again, I think they still go for a RB but more of a Damien Pierce or Jerome Ford type.Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View Post
Agree, they'll play Vidal against the Colts, and let the results dictate whether they finalize any trade they've explored.

He had trouble with teams playing with their backups. The week 17 games against KC in 2013 and 2014. One where the Chargers barely made the playoffs, and the other they failed to make it. Then there was the 2015 game against Pittsburgh where the Steelers had starters and key players out, and the Chargers should have beat them, but didn't. Stuff like this is horrible.Originally posted by powderblueboy View Post
Helped resuscitate Rivers career, who was doing the things he did in 2019 that last season with NOrv.
First two years did better than okay, when he had something to work with .... then the bad olines and other personnel issues .... hey! you saw how they played the first 3 quarters?
The Mike McCoy coaching tree: Nick Siriani and Shane Steichen (or was he Norv's?)
McCoy was clueless. He was too conservative and it didn't help win games.
Steichen was a Norv hire. When Steichen went to Cleveland for one year, he followed Norv to the Browns who was also there for one year. After that, he came back to the Chargers.

I just don't see the likelihood of us acquiring OL right now.
I also respectfully differ on the idea of picking up talented OLinemen that would dent our cap allocation at the position.
There would be caveats with any sellers.
Sooner or later, we have to attempt to develop stretch run cohesion with the underwhelming group we have...and wait for healthy returning players.
The goal is to reduce weaknesses and chip where you must.
Also, my sense is that Harbaugh is gonna want to develop locker room grit, rather than bring in more and more slap dicks.LomuG/T HechtC/G CrawfordER EndriesTE Gill-Howard4i/DE 3.19.26

Agree with your general sentiment, but I'd double down on the focus.Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post

I'd only trade a top-five-round draft pick for an o-lineman. That's it, and that's all. And if the price is a 4th round pick or better, that player damn well better be decent and contractually bound beyond 2025.
We can scavenge for a RB to pair w/Vidal for the next month. In contrast, a decent lineman pays dividends in both the run game and pass game.

McBoy's go-to answer when the media asked questions about things going wrong: "I'll have to look at the film." It was often crystal clear to any casual observer what had gone wrong, but the head coach was saying he'd have to look at the film?!?Originally posted by ChargersPowderBlue View Post

You just want to say, "Coach? If you're being honest here, we can only conclude that you're a fucking moron."
When THAT is the best response coach can come up with-- repeatedly-- the media deduces the obvious: They aren't being dealt with in good faith, and are being taken for idiots. Not surprisingly, the content they then produce isn't exactly favorable.
