I don’t understand the idea that other teams will offer anything of substance for a UDFA FA CB that went undrafted and as far as I remember has been inactive every game except one and has an aggregate collection of zero stats? I like him for the future, I know many here see the same, but in terms of trade value … ???Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View Post
Tom Telesco agrees with you, and so do I.
I like Reed, but if he were the piece necessary to close the deal on obtaining a needed player? I'd accept that. Who's the other UDFA CB they have who showed well in camp? I think his name is Eric Rogers.
The club's depth at CB is the only reason Reed is being tossed into the trade compensation discussion. I consider this a good problem to have.
I’m not seeing any value to work with here.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

None of them. Rotate them all in as often as you can.Originally posted by powderblueboy View Post
Who would you sit: Dissley or Gadsen? Or lots of 3 tight end sets, with 2 receivers .... Allen/QJ sitting.
Dissley was missed dearly... he's unheralded but super effective.
Gadsden has been more effective than than Tre Harris or KLS.
KA... everybody keeps waiting for him to get old. All he does is get open. Super helpful considering the OL troubles.
QJ... everybody wanted him cut/traded. He's a HR waiting to happen every play. DC's know. That's why there is always someone over-the-top. Why do you think KA and Ladd have so much space to operate?
Imagine this offense with Slater, Alt, Omarion, and Najee healthy.
It would be nice to see Becton healthy again, too.
If we draft/sign a good center next off-season... this is an elite offense.Protect the QB
Run the ball
Play great defense

I don’t see a need to trade for Andrews, we have other serious needs if Joe is going to make any moves that leave a bill in the future.Originally posted by Boltnut View Post

They had a lot of 13 personnel sets plus a FB on the line during the Miami game and it worked out pretty well. I think they need more of that to help out the OTS until they get guys back healthy to protect Herbert.Originally posted by powderblueboy View Post

I would also switch between Andrews and Dissley depending on if it's a run or pass play.My final Mock:
1) Woods, Peter- DT/Clemson
2) Pregnon, Emmanuel- OG/Oregon
3) Moore, Derrick- EDGE/Michigan
4) Demmings, Charlie- CB/S. F. Austin
6) Klein, Marlin- TE/Michigan

Wouldn’t NFL defenses pick up that tell pretty quickly?Originally posted by Chargers8491 View Post

I don’t see TE as the place Joe needs to spend our future capital to improve now. OG will be a better receiver than Andrews and surprise everyone with good blocking, and Diss + Fisk fili the bully TE role fine.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Yeah, you could still have some designed pass plays for Dissley. I think he had one or two against Miami.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

I agree with the 2nd part. I'm not saying it's something I would do but I could see them doing it. Personally, outside of Oline or defensive player I don't think they will make a trade and an Oline seems very unlikely. My final Mock:

Agree. The emergence of OG is really important. With both OG and Uncle Will in during 12-personnel, the defense has defend both the run and the pass. We're a better offense when we're unpredictable.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

Right, the reason I throw his name in there as the Chargers need to give up something to get something and they seem to have decent depth at the positionOriginally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View Post

Haglund mentioned Tito O as the Chargers seemed to have DLine depth and could he be used as a trade partner but that was before the Hand injury
Same with Reed and Rogers - one has been inactive I think every week, the other is on IR - could they be trade chips to help the team this year in lieu of a draft pick or added to a draft pick
Players have to have value to other teams. And maybe a young DB that "flashed" in preseason is worth taking on in a trade. So for the Jets, in a Breece Hall trade - would that help. Or another team that needs talent, would it help. In a Breece Hall trade - I can see the Jets possibly wanting Kimani Vidal just to have a young RB to see what he brings.

I also agree that Fisk, Dissly and Gadsden should be enough. Not saying NO to Andrews just thinking there are better uses of resources to trade than Andrews at this time. Like RB, maybe OT or again CENTER!!!!Originally posted by Boltnut View Post

Harbaugh speaks in sweeping generalizations and it’s always complimentary.Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View Post
McBoy's go-to answer when the media asked questions about things going wrong: "I'll have to look at the film." It was often crystal clear to any casual observer what had gone wrong, but the head coach was saying he'd have to look at the film?!?
You just want to say, "Coach? If you're being honest here, we can only conclude that you're a fucking moron."
When THAT is the best response coach can come up with-- repeatedly-- the media deduces the obvious: They aren't being dealt with in good faith, and are being taken for idiots. Not surprisingly, the content they then produce isn't exactly favorable.
I don’t see the difference other than Harbaugh is winning so he gets a pass.
Harbaugh praises Bozeman every chance he gets.

I have trust that Jim and company have much deeper analysis and understanding of our team and what is needed than I ever will.
So I don't read into every little word.
Just win. Give the media and fans nothing, just win.
