I know his 40 was kind of a mystery when he came out but he uses newly developed route running and gets behind defenders and once he gets going he has that long speed, it's not like people are running him down it just takes him a bit to get into that higher gear...he's had some long plays in the last couple of years..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. understood, also, I've never blocked anyone, don't even know how, and I enjoy your posts, so not sure why you couldn't quote me...Originally posted by jamrock View PostFouts2herbert, brutal when the quote button doesn't work but to respond to your "How so", yes he's a Charger at least thru 2027 because they exercised the option. if they had not done so it would have been a Zion/Oweh situation where they risk losing him"The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Damn! I didn't realize how young QJ is, he's already been in the NFL for three years and still younger than so many of these guys coming out right now..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Now that the Bolts have a real burner in Thompson to stretch the field, QJ should benefit when he runs those slants and crossers he's so good at...Originally posted by Ghost of Quacksaw View Post
QJ is clearly valued more highly in house than he is in outhouses, like fan forums.
No fault of his own, QJ doesn't possess the particular trait that has been missing from the Bolts' wideout room: defense stretching speed. Many here have held that against him, despite his improving notably in each of his three seasons so far. He'll never be a burner, true enough, but it's not like he hoodwinked anybody and falsely claimed to be the speed merchant that he ISN'T.
You can't please EVERYbody, and QJ doesn't! lol

imagine trips right with Ladd / Thompson stacked and QJ wide. Def will be left in the dust after 10 yards.

Junior seems healthy working out with the boys. It would be huge if he can get on track. I am not giving up on him yet

QJ through 3 seasons: 1877 yds, 18 TDs.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View PostDamn! I didn't realize how young QJ is, he's already been in the NFL for three years and still younger than so many of these guys coming out right now...
Davante Adams thru 3 seasons: 1926 yds, 16 TDs.
Both were drafted at age 22. Davante didn't break 1000 yds until year 5.
QJ has always reminded me of Davante physically, Q is an inch taller but their weight and speed are about the same.

it's crazy to think that he's already played 3 NFL seasons and is only 24 years old...AND he's still growing as a player, we haven't seen his best yet...Originally posted by Velo View Post

Just in general, I think we can count on Mike McDaniel to devise route trees that better capitalize on the strengths of the players.Originally posted by Topcat View Post

But here's the development that I will be keeping an eye on:
Being that Brenan Thompson is such a gnat, I'm very curious to see what kind of snap count McDaniel has in mind for him. I'm not anticipating that his snap count will be anything close to, say, Ladd McConkey's. I'm guessing he'll be a rotational guy, given the fact that a 165 pound receiver doesn't figure to be an actual asset as a run blocker. (At least, not without putting himself at undue physical risk.)
We are also given to understand that the Bolts will be a "run first" offense, which also impacts which players we see on the field more than others.
Bottom line, the offense we see on the field will be different from what we've seen in Harbaugh's previous two seasons. I'm just not clear on HOW different. It hinges greatly on the ability of the line to road grade.
