John would not advise Jim to hire a coach he thought was going to fail.

in the Harbaugh house, Family is #1. They do not fuck each other. They will try and beat each other in any contest but they will never ever fuck each other. John told Jim that Roman is a great coach.

JH2 are going to build a complete NFL offense. They will not rely on just pass and will not rely on just run. Chargers have been unable to run for years, they are going to fix that - that does not mean that is the only thing they will do. Folks leap a little too far when processing their statements about run game imo and assume probably a tad bit too much based on Roman's offense with Jackson. he is a good running QB and poor passing QB.
John didnt need to tell Jim that. Roman was Jim's OC at SF before he went to the Ravens.

I forgot about Feiler; I was thinking Michael Schofield.

Feiler resigned with the Bucs for pretty much the vet minimum.
He played roughly half the snaps last year.

Linsley lasted about 1 game beyond the two years.

Scoring O- Points per game. I'd think top 10 for sure. Five is doable.
We previously paired a top 5 passing O with a 20-32 rushing O. Not this year.

I'm really buying what G-Ro is selling.
the guy knows what he's talking about.
He's going to do what he's done everywhere he's gone,
which is to design a tailor-made offense for his QBs strengths.
                This is going to work.

The 2003 Charger offensive line was craptastic: Macintosh, Garmon, Ball, Bogle, Van Buren .... who remembers Phil Bogle?
It needed a complete overhaul, unlike last year's Oline.

Marty brought in Goff, and then drafted Hardwick in the 3rd round, and Olivea in the 7th.
I believe they also spent an additional 7th on an OT from U. of Miami who didn't work out.

They traded for the vet Roman Oben that summer, giving Tampa a 2005 5th.

No need to panic this draft. Know what you need and bring in a crafty vet who will become available after the draft to stabilize the younger players.

Telesco/Staley violated every basic rule of building an offensive line.
let's not forget something important here, Marty had something this Charger team does not have, they had a legit superstar RB that had one important thing in common with Barry Sanders, LT could make even a shitty line look good and an average line look great...and then as if that wasn't enough a 4x probowler and 2x 2nd team All-pro Guard dropped into their laps out of UDRFA, how often does that shit happen? that is such a rare thing to have a player of that caliber just magically drop into your lap like that, Kris Dielman was a big reason that offensive turned things around too...and it didn't take that long after he switched from DT to O-line either...

That was Marty. He saw something in the UDFA DT Dielman and one day just told him he's an OG. Chris took it to heart, worked real hard and surpassed expectations.

Marty saw that potential before anyone, including Chris. Sometimes an old coach, former player just gets it right.

G-Ro was my favorite interview at the podium from mini camp. I like him. I am on board.
