Indeed. I thought the hold out would hurt him big time but it doesn't appear to be.

I don't want to jinx things, but he gives me the same kind of vibe Merriman gave me as a rookie in 2005. Disruptive on almost every single play. "Has to be accounted for." Etc, etc.

We have not had a defensive player like that since.....Merriman.

The Thing I've liked about him, is the variety of ways he is disruptive. Not a one trick pony.

He's not just a speed rusher. He's not just a power rusher. He can go outside, he can spin off that, he can just straight up power you back... He's really fun to watch if you focus on him. Really solid player. Props to the OSU coaching staff.

So ever since Bosa was drafted, Brady Poppinga has been saying it was a bad pick, mostly because he feels Bosa is a bad fit for his current position. So now that Bosa has been playing so well, Brady has painted himself into a corner. Here he is trying to tap dance around reality.

Bosa is the real deal he makes everybody better on D, and that isn't something we can say about the other players on D in the past we spent high draft picks. Cory Liguet story was if we get some help and you can see he is a good player, If we can get some more attack players on the D-line and we can see how good Teo can be. With Bosa he is a beast despite of who is around him. Going back in the days of Seau he was a beast despite the lack of talent around him he was still disruptive. As mention Merriman was explosive and disruptive, but he had some talent around him. Bosa has some talent around him, Mebane, Brown, Perryman, Verrett and Hayward when healthy that is.

It is so important to not miss on the early rounds we have a lot of swings and misses with rounds 1-3 on D the ones in bold are good picks and then there is the rest

I listened to that and the only thing I came away with was the guy is just doubling down trying to defend his take that Bosa was a bad pick.

Yup. The guy is defending an indefensible position at this point. I've heard his takes since before the draft, and his views basically are that he knows better than the front office guys regarding which defenders fit best in which positions, and refuses to acknowledge that he may be incorrect. He thought the chargers should've taken Buckner.

I remember Chris Spielman saying that Bosa was the best defensive player ever from Ohio State. I think he was chided for that as well. For me, I'm more than pleased that he turned out well, and that there is less second guessing on Telesco other than Poppinga. Poppinga has the 'Fonzie' syndrome... can't say the words "I was wrong."

John Spanos Era. The early picks must've been more fun to fuck up than the later ones.
He doesn't seem to interfere much with the waiver claims, which have usually been stellar.
