    Welcome TE "Uncle Will" Dissly!

Massive TE, 6-4, 265 lbs. Been in the league since 2018, all with Seahawks. Big, bruising blocking TE. Harbaugh/Hortiz know what they want and are building it. This is going to be a different kind of offense!

    Three years/$14 mil/$10 guaranteed.

4th round pick of the Seahawks in 2018 out of Washington. Had some chemistry from Let Russ Cook early in his career.

Checkout the latest stats for Will Dissly. Get info about his position, age, height, weight, college, draft, and more on Pro-football-reference.com.

Seahawks thanking him upon his departure. They gave him a 2nd contract, he was/is pretty highly regarded in Seattle. Not a superstar, but a pro's pro who will help the run game immensely. Woot!

The Seahawks drafted tight end Will Dissly in the 4th round of the 2018 NFL Draft and the University of Washington product would go on to play six seasons in Seattle.

Nooo that means Brock Bowers is officially off the list. The Joe Alt rumors at the combine could true if JH doesnt want passing weapon like many here are expecting

        Round 6

        NFL Comparison
        David Morgan

        Overview

Inexperienced but improving, Dissly is a Y-tight end prospect who has the potential to become a much more productive and effective player than where he stands right now. Dissly has decent size and is nothing special as an athlete, but he displays the toughness and talent to become an NFL blocker as a Day 3 selection.

        Strengths
        • Broad through hips and chest
        • Former defensive end and built like it
        • Team player and willing to do what coaches ask
        • Acclimated to position change quickly
        • Plays with toughness and a grinder's mentality as in-line blocker
        • Good pop behind initial contact
        • Quick fit into run blocks and runs his feet
        • Plus hand strength to sustain
        • Locks out arms and maintains positioning as wall-off blocker
        • Good feel and timing when working up to linebackers
        • Decent athlete
        • Able to pace ahead of linebackers on crossing routes
        • Smart
        • Understands how and when to adjust routes to improve catch space
        • Excellent hand-eye coordination and focus
        • Has power to drag grabby tacklers for a ride

        Weaknesses
        • Will need more technique work and experience as lateral blocker
        • Needs more consistent inside hands as run blocker
        • Still figuring out footwork as run blocker and route-runner
        • Lacks experience in pass protection
        • Uses excessive settle steps getting into route breaks
        • Athleticism benefits him in a very relative radius
        • Slows route pace when turning to find the football
        • May lack vertical speed and ball skills to be a downfield option
        • Below average leaper

Never know, Dissly is a blocker first and they still need pass catching weapons, though from hearing Hortiz on BPA in interviews, if they cant trade down, and take positional value into account, I think they grab an elite WR

I don't think this signing rules out Bowers. The new offense is going to feature a lot of two TE sets. Dissly is going to be a blocking TE, not a primary receiving TE.

Dissly has played in 62 of 67 games over the past four seasons, so he is durable. He has averaged about 24 catches per season since his 2nd year, for about 240 yds per season and slightly more than two TDs. His best season as a pass catcher was the first year with Geno Smith in 2022 with 350 yds on 34 catches and 3 TDs, and an 89.5 percent catch rate.

Not a big part of the passing game. But will contribute to it, and will make the catch when thrown to. A huge upgrade over Tre McKitty.

Strong side (R) seems likely. We were getting a blocking TE regardless of anything else. We got a pro vet..
Pip is safer but no guarantees.

This is a blocking TE who is an acceptable receiver. This does nothing to make it more or less likely that we are taking Brock Bowers.

For sure, better than McKitty, Good blocker and can catch a pass or two when needed. Would be a good compliment to Bowers actually. But i think they will draft a premium position if they stay at 5 and that points to an elite WR based on the value at 5 in this draft. If they take a tackle I think they trade down to do it.

                        Gus right behind Pip/Diss
Feelin’ better about Pip already and it’s only Day 1
