But players play with pain all the time vs injuries that prevent them from playing. Herbert played with a fractured rib. That's painful. McConkey played against the Cards with pain. Alt has an MCL sprasin. Doubt it's healed. Slater has a pec injury. Probably some pain there.
You can't compare yourself and I wasnt comparing you. I'm saying you probably have never had any of these injuries you think they can play with.

Sprained MCLs are painful and you were bad mouthing Pipkins two seasons ago for playing bad when he had one and he really shouldn't have been out there.
Bad mouthed Keenan for his hamstring after a few weeks saying he should be out there like he should be healed up, and he should be out there, like you know what it feels like and know his severity. Then said he was too old and he will always have hamstring issues now .... like no young recievers ever get them lol. He hasn't had a hamstring injury since.

He could have played the last two games last season but with Herbert out and everybody else and the season all but over, why should he tough it out?

Joey has played through injuries but when is he healthy, he hurts something else. Every time. I'm just ready to move on from him .....even trade him to the Raiders. Idc, what good is he if he is hurt! He had missed 31% of games in his career. Last three years including this year he has missed 42% and counting.

As for Herbert, if Harbaugh were the HC then, I'm sure he wouldn't have played Herbert for a few weeks with the broken rib cartilage.
Staley let him play when he clearly couldn't run for an easy 1st down and tossed the ball away in the ground so he wouldn't have to run.

I'm glad you got this off your chest but your memory is cloudy. It wasn't me bad mouthing Pipkins. Just about everybody else on the board tho so I can see why you might be confused.

I did think Keenan was dogging it. And sure, why play if the season's lost when you can just sit and collect a paycheck. I guess that's the kind of players you want? In any case, Keenan gave us a lot more than Bosa has.

If you aren't 100% and the season is lost, why play him when you can give QJ the reps which he needed. We had 5 wins!

If we were in playoff contention, he could of played the last two games. I don't have any issue with that.
I said when Stick had to play that we wouldn't win another game and we didn't.

QJ got plenty of reps while Keenan was out for what 8-9 weeks. It's not like he was languishing on the bench all season.

I'm in the you play to win category. And your best players play.

In 2022 he missed 7 games. QJ wasn't on the team then. He missed the 4 games last year.

And sure, with Stick we were playing to win lol.
Some of us knew we wouldy win even 1 game with Schtick. It's why we went and traded for a better backup.

So what does "trust the process " mean in the context of the current state of the Chargers ?

To me, it means understand the course the Chargers have committed to and think and comment accordingly.

                That's all.

Yes it is frustrating, but that does not absolve us from making less than savvy football takes.
                We play modern Harball.

I still think Stone Smartt can develop into what we need--that special weapon.

If he had come up with the catch on that dime Herbert threw him on a wheel route, we would have beat AZ.

Stone ought to get more snaps, more touches.

You want to “stay the course”? Meaning more Chargering as in losing close games, not me.

GRo has a fixed mindset the other Harbaugh recognized and let him go as Lamar was not developing. I watched Lamar in college and Gro stifled him. Changing a mindset like Gro requires considerable sustained energy. I am more concerned Harbaugh is too loyal to Gro and struggling in his own way to adjust to the new NFL given his experiences at Michigan.

Creating a culture with growth mindset demands at least 3 ingredients. You must change the view, change the decision criteria (& metrics to win on Sundays), & change the talent.

For me it is straightforward, Harb’s challenges Herbert to get more involved in the play calling along with empowering him to audible more and run no huddle via what Herbert sees & feels is essential to WIN! Herbert will readily take on some OC duties. And if Herbert trusts Smartt, then hell yes, he should get more targets.

Roman was not fired, he resigned. And the year he resigned Jackson had his best year, putting up his best QB rating and by far his most TDs and went 13-2 to go along with winning the MVP.

I thought Roman was a boring hire, but Harbaugh is going to do it his way and he is going to succeed like he has done everywhere.

I remember that TD play he had last year in the game at Green Bay. More of that would be great.

"Staying the course" IMV means to hang in there until things inevitably improve.

I could not be more clear in stating my opnion...no need for straw man argument.

We have seen the beginnings of what happens as Herbert heals.

Red Zone troubles must be straightened out.

As is typical, solutions are simple but not easy.
