Get back to us on how many missed games Joey's had over the last 4 years, and how THAT number compares to other elite edge rushers in the same time frame. Off the cuff I'd say that he's been available for 1/2 of the games within that span. Combine his lack of availability with his high value contract and that's why he catches flack.
I have many issues with Joey, but lack of effort or the 'want to' play aren't among them. Basically he hasn't performed up to his contract, and that handicaps the team's ability to improve. He's gone after this year for certain, and he won't get a contract from another team unless it's a 'prove it' type contract (for low dollars).
