I don't think it necessarily means they would trade for someone if they did.
If Chark is activated then a spot for him would need to be opened up.

Trading for a TE wouldn't be a bad move, the FA group of TE's next off-season isn't great and most TE's take a while to develop from the draft. It's just a matter of whether or not guys like Engram/Njoku would actually be available.

Out of curiosity, I checked his PFF season grade (I know, not the greatest but usually somewhat in the ballpark) and he is rated as the 140th out of 146 safeties in the league this year. His overall grade is 37.5 with a pass rush grade of 65.3, a run defense grade of 57.6 and a coverage grade of 36.5.
I do think that Elija Molden has been playing very well so I checked his PFF grades. He is ranked 6th with an overall grade of 87.8 with a pass rush grade of 59.7, a run defense grade of 77.3 and a coverage grade of 83.2.
I would love to see much more of Molden and less of Gilman.

He's 6-1/200, turns 28 in Jan, ran 4.39 40 at the 2019 Combine. The G'nts brought him back on a 2 year deal after his rookie contract. He's in the final year of that deal, earning $8 mil this season, the Chargers would only take on half that. The G'nts' season is over, they are 2-6, only above Carolina in the NFC standings. The G'nts have a bunch of young WRs led by Nabors. They might want to move Slayton, and because of his contract he could probably be had for a 5th or 6th rnd pick. The Chargers could decide whether to re-sign him or let him walk in the off-season based on his performance the remainder of the season. He's young enough to invest a deal in if his play measures up. He has been the G'nts most consistent WR in the Daniel Jones era. Not a flashy WR, but would make a quality addition to the WR corps for minimal investment.
I would guess that the price for either of them would be at least a tier lower than Johnson so it would be worth a look.

Not sure why Tart does not play more? Every time he is on the field I see him win his one on ones and make plays. On the pass he tipped/batted, he got knocked to the ground by the blocker and then did a martial arts type spring back up. Quite impressive for someone of his size (and uh, girth)
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

There are options. Johnson would likley be our best WR immediately, but there are cheaper options out there, and Johnson price is reportedly a 5th, not astronomical.
