A similar thing is on the front burner at EDGE-DE-DT, with more prospects.
We can get in there or we can wait for tier two value.

I'm okay trading down if BPA and PON don't meet perfectly. Which is more likely if we plug a hole or 2 in FA.HAMMER TIME

Some posters here were saying he was not a good route runner... then he ran great routes at the Senior Bowl.
IMO, Mason Taylor is the #3 TE and a probable 2nd round pick.
Jerimiah had Bowers as 5th best player in last years draft and he has the top 2 TE's this year at 5 and 7 in terms of best players available.... Loveland will be much better with Herbert as QB than he was in Michigan..... Loveland has special elite eluisive skills and instincts for how to get open and if we choose him will become our leading receiver in terms of number of targets and catches..... and he will be a nightmare for defenses to try and stop....

Jim Harbaugh was on the Dan Patrick show yesterday, Feb 5th and in that segment he said he had his hip replacement 13 days ago from then so that puts it around Jan 23rd?
Hasn't had the heart arythma thing done yet. Not sure what that will be but supposed to be minor.
1. Mason Taylor TE LSU
2. Quinshon Judkins RB Ohio st
3. Kyle Kennard Edge So. Carolina ✓
4. CJ West DT Indiana
5. Don'te Thornton WR Tennessee
6. Zah Frazier CB UTSA
6. Jarquez Hunter RB Auburn
6. Jay Higgins LB Iowa
6. Hunter Wohler S Wisconsin
7. Carson Vinson OT Alabama

or if the board doesn't shake out and you have a handful of candidates with similar grades and can trade back for a good deal - also an option
Chargers have enough needs that if that really player drops -- probably will fill a need as well.

I do believe he has a great deal of respect for his previous organization, but this ain't them..
I do expect IOL, WR2, TE, Edge to be a priority but BPA in the 1st could be a DT.
I think FA or trade for a quality vet C. Beyond that I think the adds are right. Who , when? Hard to say.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

I'd rather we draft our own Trey Smith. Dude was only a 6th rounder. Hortiz needs to find his own Trey Smith. We have 10 picks, let's make it happen.
Fans need to make peace with the fact that Zion and Bozeman will be back next year. I think Pipkins will be replaced. I think/hope Hortiz finds another OG and center of the future in this draft. The 2026 OL likely is the OL of the future. Be patient, next year is prob a small step backwards as we rely on a lot of (exciting) rookies moving forward. Which also means a higher pick in 2026 and more chance of an impact player there, too.
Two more years, Bolt fam. Be patient. Don't forget that Harbaugh struggled mightily at first at Michigan. Almost got fired after 2020. Takes time to build these things.
It is what most of the final 8 teams have done, they ALL have a FA signing amidst their draft picks because hitting on 5 of 5 draft picks is like hitting on an inside straight flush. Sure, you can wait to draw that inside card, but you will probably go broke before it ever falls.
If it was as easy as just use a 6th rd draft pick and voila you have a pro bowl OG … 32 teams would have pro bowl OGs. I love how many here say “he was a (pick your Day3 round) pick” as if thats easy and normal and all late Day3 picks are pro bowl players. Truth is that 2% of Rd6 picks become a starter, so on average, you need to make 50 Rd6 picks to get one starter.
As I said, you can try that Rd 6 plan, but you’ve got a 50-1 probability you go broke before it works. What I see by careful scientific analysis of all of the top NFL teams is that yes, they devote draft capital to their OL. Check, we’ve done that.
Then, when they have several great pieces, they don’t just wait around for the draft to find even more great pieces - they go and sign one or two so they get a functioning entire OL, and not just a couple great pieces.
I think signing one of the other mid-level OGs will be enough, we don’t need a line stocked with all pros to succeed. Just need 3 motherfuckers that don’t jump out of the goddamn way when a twisting DE comes right up the middle at them. Just give us 3 guys that don’t all decide to block 1 defender 3x1 while 2 other defenders run ant herbie untouched. Just some simple shit.
LAC is in that perfect position where we have the high cost OTs and just need the lower cost IOL. Signing Trey would be bad ass. Signing Trey + Dalton would tell the world that LAC will have the most impenetrable fucking titanium spear tip ever to pierce this planet and there’s not a goddamn thing any other team can do about it. We shall rule all of the tribes and all lands across the plains.
Imagine this OL: Slater - NEW ProBowl LG - Dalton - Smith - Alt!

So now it comes down to - do you spend big money on the RG to solidify a young OL for the next 4-5 years or do you spend big money on the WR who is a very good fit with Ladd and sign a veteran RG. Personally, I still go with Trey Smith and figure out WR in the draft. But if they go Higgins and Zeitler - I wouldn't hate it
The Chargers can be players in free agency
and just because Telesco was a bad GM doesn't mean Hortiz will be in identifying the right players
Aim High -to beat the Chiefs have to aim big!
And by the way Cooper Kupp and Keenan Allen aren't the answers at WR.
