If the Bolts pick up a solid C and RG in either FA or draft, and Zion STILL struggles at LG in pass pro after a few games, then we obviously DON'T pick up that 5th year option...not only that, but bench him and try out someone else...I'd kind of like to double dip at G in both FA and the draft...

I know a lot of us are looking at different FAs that could be signed to help the Chargers, but we don't really have an idea of what they would sign for. I've added some of the top FAs below with a calculated league value.

      FAs (no order):

      1) Tee Higgins WR: 4yr/101mil - Avg: 25mil/yr
      2) Khalil Mack ED: 3yr/70mil - Avg: 23mil/yr
      3) Trey Smith OG: 4yr/78mil - Avg: 19mil/yr
      4) Zack Martin OG: 1yr/9mil - Avg: 9mil/yr
      5) Jevon Holland S: 4yr/60mil - Avg: 15mil/yr
      6) Haason Reddick ED: 1yr/11mil - Avg: 11mil/yr
      7) Nick Bolton LB: 4yr/49mil - Avg: 12mil/yr
      8) Keenan Allen WR: 2yr/22mil - Avg: 11mil/yr
      9) Drew Dalman C: 3yr/20mil - Avg: 6.8mil/yr
      10) Ryan Kelly C: 1yr/10mil - Avg: 10mil/yr
      11) Charvarious Ward: 3yr/45mil - Avg: 15mil/yr
      12) D.J. Reed: 4yr/58mil - Avg: 14/mil/yr

These are just of the FA's I will likely add more later. At first look some are less than what I was expecting, and some are more. It's crazy you could get both Trey Smith and Drew Dalman for less than what Bosa's cap hit would be.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

        1) Tee Higgins WR: 4yr/101mil - Avg: 25mil/yr -FOR SURE
        2) Khalil Mack ED: 3yr/70mil - Avg: 23mil/yr -- ask me how much is guaranteed but probably not
        3) Trey Smith OG: 4yr/78mil - Avg: 19mil/yr -- way too low - he will get 23-25
        4) Zack Martin OG: 1yr/9mil - Avg: 9mil/yr -- if healthy and he wants to play, and the Suns need a vet RG - he was dominant. I still would probably prefer a younger RG - but one year stopgap, he or Zeitler
        5) Jevon Holland S: 4yr/60mil - Avg: 15mil/yr
        6) Haason Reddick ED: 1yr/11mil - Avg: 11mil/yr -- I think he gets more
        7) Nick Bolton LB: 4yr/49mil - Avg: 12mil/yr -
        8) Keenan Allen WR: 2yr/22mil - Avg: 11mil/yr - nope - rather pay Hollywood
        9) Drew Dalman C: 3yr/20mil - Avg: 6.8mil/yr -- seems low to me. I think Dalman gets $10m AAV and Kelly would be in that $7-8m range for one year but $10m is workable
        10) Ryan Kelly C: 1yr/10mil - Avg: 10mil/yr - for one year with Martin or ZEilter - not bad
        11) Charvarious Ward: 3yr/45mil - Avg: 15mil/yr
        12) D.J. Reed: 4yr/58mil - Avg: 14/mil/yr

And yes, from a cap perspective - the Suns could sign Smith and Dalman for 25m. My guess, the AAVs combined would be in the low to mid 30's in free agency

EDIT: Chargers ciuld sign Smith and Dalman - NBA trade deadling on the brain!

          My top 3..

Higgins - The perfect fit for Herb.
Dalman - Nasty, physical and young and it looks like he’s going to see FA.
Martin - Vet. Put Bozeman behind them as the interior swing guy and the O line is set.

I like this a lot. You would have to draft an OG as Martin is near the end

Martin for 10 years was the best RG in football. Granted, he may retire for health reasons. But if healthy, he or Zeitler would work

Yeah, either paired with Dalman and I like the O line a whole lot more. Draft G’s to replace going forward the next 2 drafts. That’s the mauling Oline that Harbaugh envisions.
Get a TE and another RB and we’re cooking with gas..

I'm a fan of Dalman or Kelley. Linsley made a night and day difference, gimme some of that. A quality vet C makes more difference on this Chargers team than one of the "skill' players.
Draft the best RG we can get, build a bigger trophy cabinet. With Harbaugh and Roman, we can't dick around building an OL

Adios Khalil 😄. Seriously I don't see anyone giving that for him. Well maybe Cleveland, but If he wants to win, he won't go.

                      Reality sucks.
When our TPB personnel people go on their shopping sprees,
I do hope they consider positional cap allocation.
                      We play modern Harball.

after the 1st round sure, but we need to take Loveland if he is there at 22...... Chargers have not had a great/diference making TE since Gates..... a great TE causes the biggest mismatches for any defense and he gets open quicker than a WR or RB..... Loveland is too fast and sudden for LBerrs to cover and too big for DB's to cover.... every great offense has a good to great TE.... and Loveland will be a better pro than college player and he will catch several balls per game..... Herbert needs a TE badly!!!

Jeremiah has Loveland ranked 7th in his top 50 players..... he had Bowers rated 5th last year.....Loveland is special when it comes to ad-libbing to get open like Kelsy or Gates.... that is why he will b so great in NFL....

Biggest issue is that Loveland will likely/sadly be off the board long before Chargers pick..... and if that is the case then we likely will take a pass rusher/DL as BPA....

Ive seen some mocks where Jeanty drops all the way to 22?..... and if he does he would be hard to pass on but i doubt that cowboys, raiders or others would not grab him.....

one thing most of us forget, is in today's NFL, the edge rushers dont have as huge an impact that they once did with immobile pocket QB's..... pass rushers up the middle are the only ones that consistently have a chance to get to a QB before the ball is gone..... ball is usually gone before outside rushers get there.....

look at chiefs.... they have one great pass rusher in Jones who primarily rushes up the middle and when he is outside, he still forces his way into the middle......... and most of their great pass rush comes from timely designed blitzing up the middle..... Chargers can do the same if coverage is good....
