I think it's a detriment to the franchise to use it as a jobs program for family members who are drawing big paychecks for useless positions. Unless you think Baby Spanos and his brother add anything of value to the franchise in their respective roles, I don't.

The good news is that Pip is a converted RT and is long, so he should be able to put up a better rep than here ... steer him back to the center.
Karlaftis won't ever get this close with Slater out there.

Pipkins' length should be useful but it's still a very bad mismatch for us. Hopefully by week 4 he's found some rhythm.
I want to see Edwards or Matlock helping more in max protection at least on 3rd downs.

This friggin never should happen ... only on a Brandon Staley quality coaching staff. Even with Wyatt Teller at guard.

The point is that any Charger interior player needs a double on Jones ..... if they are rushing straight up.
Pip will set back quicker, get his arms out more readily and get the center help when Jones changes up to a bullrush.

Here's another way they try to free him up, with a nose tackle positioned on the center's right shoulder.
Watch the guard do nothing this play. RB needed to be on the other side to pick up #47, who was a decoy, and the RG/C should have slid left for God's sake.
WTF is wrong with coaches? Take Jones out of the game .... hard to do if you do not even try.

BTW, does Chris Jones have a preference with swim moves to his left?

An awful lot of NFL teams have children working in their team's respective front offices, right or wrong. If Hortiz and Harbaugh win a SB in the next few years, like I think they will, then I don't care how many Spanii are working for the team.

Throwing spitballs at the owners for employing their kids is just annoying.

                  I really like the Chargers.

Who are the elite players on this team now? I have

                      Bosa, Mack, James on defense

Herbert, Slater, Alt on offense (not sure on Dobbins yet)

                      Dicker on special teams

And Harbaugh, I know he's not a player but his contribution is elite.

Also, nobody has been more critical of Derwin than I have, but I still think he is a player with elite skills. I hope he has a breakout season.

Its pretty normal for business owning families to work in the business. hardly feels like news to me. There are a lot of shitty managers and leaders who were hired too
