These 2 guys obviously work for the Chargers... try to bring them back.
Bosa - maybe at around $10-12m one year deal
Mack a bit higher
unless they can use that money on a guy like SweatLast edited by Bolt4Knob; 12-30-2024, 08:53 AM.

First off, what a difference a year makes. Going from John/TT to JH/JH. So much more confidence in going forward.
-The current situation is that the Chargers have 10 wins and are going to the playoffs. One year ago had 5 wins and gave up over 60 to the Raiders!! WOW
-How many no-names were signed by the Chargers and had an impact on the team this year ( Molden, Ford, etc. ). Some of you are big on Tart but you have to look at his history ( and others that were signed for one year like Bozeman ) and realize that they are not the answer long term. I have confidence in JH/JH to again filled the gaps with solid short term solutions for areas in need. The draft is always a roll of the dice BUT JH/JH seem to have a plan and I have confidence that they will do OK ( and if they get lucky maybe hit on a couple of them). I don't know enough about FA and Prospect out there available to know which is the one to go after. BUT I do have confidence in the team going after the correct ones. Again I did not feel that way for the last few years.
-It seem to me, that a lot of these temp solutions that did well for the Chargers this year did it for one main reason. Great COACHING.
- in the future who out there is not super confident that this team will get better? They are young and going to get younger. They have management that has more cap space and knows how to use it. Also has I mentioned above, I have so much more confidence in the Coaching to make players perform better.
-Just to thrown this out there. LV won their last 2 games and draft status goes down. Didn't the Charger do this a couple of time in the past? Guy at work says that you cannot ask players to lose but I disagree. You do what is best for the team. Giants and Raiders need a real good QB to be good long term. They may have just lost this ability to do so in this next draft. DUMB! AND with the Raiders winning their last 2 games may encourage Davis Doorknob to keep Pierce as coach
This has been such and encouraging and satisfying season no matter what happens in the playoffs

Haven’t posted since around the Harbaugh acquisition. I’m back to see how you Charger fans are feeling about the season and the future of your favorite team. I know pretty much everything I believed would happen, has happened. Thoughts? Bolt up.

If cutting Bosa could enable re-signing those 5 players... I'd do it.
IMO, Mack has another good year left in him. I'd be willing to spend $15m on him. He's a leader... on top of being very productive.
I've been one of the few to defend Joey over the last couple of years.
He's super productive (pressure rate) when he's healthy.
But his ability to stay healthy is an obvious weakness.
With the potential cap savings... the timing seems right to move on.
Definitely time to draft a young edge player, too.Protect the QB
Run the ball
Play great defense

The answer is hell yes ..... Kelce and Mack are gene's guys and team leaders.
If you think the Chargers have a Super Bowl window the next two years - the answer is clear.
You also need an overall plan of limiting his minutes ..... you can't stick him out their for 50 + plays each game.
Need another guy, particularly with Bosa leaving.
If you bring in a disruptive DT, you can get by with adding another Mike Dana type.
Why very little discussion of the bumper crop of DTs in the draft's 1rst round .... beachcomber needs to pick up his game.
two or three of them, beyond Mason Graham, will be elite, if the law of averages prevail.
Who is the stud draftable in the 20s beachcomber???

Hortiz is a different animal.
TT did have a decent eye for edge rushers: Bosa, Tui and Nwosu.
Missed only with attaochu.

You need a young center who can grow with the rest of the young online .... that would lock in this team as a contender on offense for the next 5 - 10 years.
Moving around in the draft, forwards/backwards, will help.
If you are waiting for the back end of the 4rth to get your guy, he's probably not ready/nor will ever be anything other than a low end starter.
Maybe, that's the way the draft lays out, but it would be very disappointing sticking with bap all draft, or not moving around.
Center is a huge need to solidify the Oline - you can't get studs everywhere.Last edited by powderblueboy; 12-30-2024, 10:10 AM.

Methinks we have similar mindsets in HC and GM versus the booger eating morons they replaced.
