Yeah, I think they do think they can get some day 1 starters…on day 1.Originally posted by Boltnut View Post
It doesn't really matter what others think about OC and OG prospects. It appears that Joe and Jim might feel that they can get some Day 1 starters through the draft... or maybe trade.

Yes. I was thinking the same thing about Poona... he wasn't a guy that moved the needle for most of us last off-season. Then he had a very solid season. Like Poona, Hand had a down year after having a good year. He seems to find good players that are temporarily on a down swing. St. Juste was a guy I liked when I first watched his college tape. I think he'll have a resurgence with us. I like the fact that we have built depth in the secondary, DL and LB positions. Edge is the only defensive position we really NEED in the draft. I wanted Molden, Mack, Perryman, and Dye back... so I'm pretty happy with these "F-" moves... LOL!Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post
That right there is why we had to cut guys last year, the JC Jackson contract fucked us royally and there are JC Jacksons every fucking year, most of these big money free agent deals turn into complete fucking busts, but EVERY fucking year people are raving like lunatics to take part in the stupidity...look at the nonsense that we've been reading here this past week, I don't understand people, the packers never used to do it either but now that they don't have full control of the division they're getting desperate too...you have to keep your wits about you...
look at what Hortiz did last year, he flipped two has been/busts into players that go big deals in this free agent cycle, dude made chicken Barbecue out of chicken shit...you guys ready to see that again? keep the names in mind, St. Juste, Hand, Naquan, and Tart...someone is going to get paid again next year, just watch...I think it's fucking hilarious that people are like POONA!!!! No not POOONA, LMFAO with that bullshit when most of us were like, Poona who? when Hortiz signed him last offseason...
just watch Milton Williams and Aaron Banks turn into JC Jacksons for their teams, statistically it's probably the most likely outcome...
I was nearly the only one not happy about the JCJ signing. I wanted McDuffie. The draft should always be the way you build.Protect the QB

If Hortiz sees Booker or Zabel as the BPA @#22... I'm fine with their choice. I've been complaining about having a running game for years.Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post
Yeah, I think they do think they can get some day 1 starters…on day 1.
My "illegitimate" view is that neither are the BPA @#22. I see that my favorites (Lovelnd and Hampton) may not be there @#22.
Not long ago, the legitimate pundits were saying my favorite (Hampton) was a late round 1 or early round 2... and not worth the #22 pick.
Not long ago, the legitimate pundits were suggesting that my 2nd round favorite (Mason Taylor) would still be there in the 3rd round...
If you carefully read the analysts thoughts on my suggested Day 1 starters (Jack Nelson and Ajani Cornelius)... you'll see that they are analyzing them with thoughts on them being OT's... not OG's. Their critiques of them are focussed on their abilities in space. At guard, those concerns dissipate. Their run-blocking is never questioned. They will be some of the best pass-blocking OG's in the draft and they are more athletic than most guard prospects. The only concern I would have... pad level... which can be coached.Protect the QB
