I think there's probably individual improvement on that side of the ball but not the other.
Hopefully James ends up beating them both and Zion is at least a little improved at Guard.

        HOF game = Superbowl preview.
        Heard it here first.

        08:40:
mentions Davis' improved route running. "He's a weapon". Imo the only TCU WR they extend from that class.
"The best defense is more offense."

Fox was bad against the run and imo losing him was ok
He added some pass rush but his run defense was weak .
Fox was one dimensional and teams exploited it when he rotated in, all the pas rush ability that he had was not enough to offset the run support IMO...Otito has been working his ass off, Minter was quoted as saying that he liked how Otito has responded to the uptick in competition, instead of getting down and feeling overwhelmed he's doubled down on working harder and embracing the fact that he has to improve...I think that's coach's way of saying that Otito is still a relevant part of the rotation even after the additions of Campbell, Hand, and Jones.

I think anyone holding onto his draft position in how they judge him, has to let that go by now, and just see him for his current value to the team.
I get it that QJ has had some significant drops during games that cost the team dearly, which is an indication that he gets nervous or rattled in big moments, but overall his drop numbers are not any where near as bad as people make them out to be, many have posted statistics of QJs drops alongside of other WRs that many here wanted to pursue in free agency or even others that they compared him to from a draft perspective and his numbers are on par and even better than some of those players...

by any measure QJ has already shown that he is no where near to being a bust, he proved last year that he belongs...I can see parallels in QJs story to how it took years for people to embrace Mike Williams, I might not have been posting here then but I was definitely reading along and he was consistently shredded for years because he wasn't living up to being the #7 overall pick and all that...at some point folks forgot about all that and appreciated Mike for being a great teammate, for making some game winning plays, and for giving the team everything he had...QJ wasn't drafted as high but I think he's going to win folks over in time just like Mike did, he's unselfish, no prima donna here, he's a hard worker, his teammates love the kid, his coaches love the kid, and he's still maximizing his potential...

I recall we all stared at that DL before they were signed and it had nobody and the consensus was both of the signings would help. Not sure anyone thought they’d help as much as they did. i hope H & J fill that role, also I really liked Caldwell college tape and look to see him and if Eb really has made a big jump this year … we could be alright fine at IDL, maybe stronger than we have been in years. Still no Chris Jones in the room but we can’t have everything.
How many teams around the league have a Chris Jones caliber interior defensive lineman? The Chargers have depth and a really nice rotation now, Hortiz is all about that depth, except for the unproven Campbell, all of these guy can be counted on and they all have a real nice combination of youth and experience and they all excel at stoping the run, Tart, Otito, Hand, Jones, and Egboibe by themselves would be one of the better groups we've had in years and whatever Campbell brings in 2025 will just be a bonus...

IDK if James is the answer but IMO he had a stretch where he was really good, like a lot better than Bozeman has EVER been as a center...the equivalent of that with Bozeman was a 2 year stretch where he was a pretty good LG for the Ravens...I'm still rooting for Zion to beat out this season, that would be the best possible outcome for the team...

Improvement for sure, I think this D-line is better than the one we had last year, it's legitimately 5 deep for sure and potentially 6 deep depending on what Campbell shows in the coming weeks...I felt like last year with Egboibe needing time to develop and with Matlock just being a part time player, it felt to me that we only had 3 legit rotational interior guys with one pass rush specialist...this group now is one that is more interchangeable and all these guys are good agains the run and a couple have show some pop in pass rush too...it's also a bigger and younger group as a whole too...I feel good about the interior, I'm more concerned about Edge, I haven't heard a damn thing about Kennard and he's going to be a needed in the rotation, that concerns me a bit...if Morris-Brash gets poached off the practice squad we could be playing Caleb Murphy more again this year...I don't like that...

The lack of improvement at C and LG after giving up 41(total) sacks, fuels my skepticism for 2025.

                    Well see...

It's definitely a concern, the worst part about it was how much of those sacks really just came down to blown assignments and not the guys getting their asses kicked...if our guys get overpowered that's one thing and it happens to almost every single O-lineman out there except for a couple of elite guys, but to give up so much pressure because you don't understand what you're supposed to do be doing? that there is some bullshit...

There are very few Chris Jones, agree.
Caldwell? I forgot about Tito, good add - hope he breaks thru this year too. We’ve been waiting on him.

we have to hope that blowing your assignment is more fixable than getting your ass kicked? Wasn’t fixed for 19 games last year, I still wonder why we didnt see a new OL coach personally as I agree it was more assignment mistakes and errors than physically getting beat. Same in run game, btw, nobody talks about that.
