Zion should be retained. He’s not the problem with IOL.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post
The only 2 guys under contract next year I want back are both on IR now. I'd like Salyer and Pipkins back on the bench, I doubt they sign both and may not sign either. The interior can all just fuck right off. All of them. It’s a lot of rebuilding - requires multiple FA signs and multiple draft picks. It HAS to be the #1, #2, and #3 focus for Joe.

Vet minimum for sure - see what happens in training camp. Nothing guaranteed.Originally posted by Riverwalk View PostI don’t see why you being Penning back unless it’s vet minimum. He’s a liability, not an asset.
The Oline needs a shake up
And the way Becton and Dupree have played plus Dissly only playing because of Fisk - pretty sure all three will be released and the Chargers will get cap space. I would add Boze to that group as well.

For now. He can still be salvageable as a G, perhaps. I would honestly throw the dice on him and try to convert him into a DT where some of his deficiencies would be masked. Perhaps it can bring back his aggression from his college days -- it seems that he lost it when he came into the NFL and found out that he couldn't just latch on defenders and toss them to the ground like he was used to in college.Originally posted by Riverwalk View PostI don’t see why you being Penning back unless it’s vet minimum. I’m joining the angry peasant mob as soon as I get my pitchfork from Home Depot.

I think you resign Zion and Salyer, also bring in Max Mitchell to compete with Salyer for backup OT position. Salyer’s only decent at LT. I’m ok with him even battling Mitchell if they can sign Mitchell. Also sign RG Ed Ingram and release Becton and Dupree. Those 2 cuts, will help pay for Ingram and Zion. Then you draft Logan Jones or Pat Coogan in the 2nd to play C and Boze is your backup for a season, which is not a bad option.
LT Alt
LG Zion
C Logan Jones or Pat Coogan(R)
RG Ed Ingram(FA)
RT Slater
Backups
Slayer
Max Mitchell(FA)
Keylan Rutledge(R)
Boze
B. Taylor
Teven Jenkins(FA)
Great staring lineup with good depth

Slater is the LT. Gentleman’s bet that’s where he resumes playing next season.Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View PostI think you resign Zion and Salyer, also bring in Max Mitchell to compete with Salyer for backup OT position. BTW, wasn’t it cool seeing Rashawn prowl the sideline like the dominant ferocious Silverback he is just craving to get back in the game.

Here is my rational with Bozeman and you can add Penning as well. I actually think if Bobby Hart wants to play - he would be a solid OT for depthOriginally posted by Riverwalk View Post

But back to Bozeman, my rational is simply based on having a back up Center on the roster. That is it. But, if you draft somebody or there is another option - by all means do not bring him back.
So its more if there aren't better options - for the vet minimum, fine

Sure…strictly backup, if at all, next year. And competitors welcome for backup role too!Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
