I'm going hard after Jaedan Phillips and Linderbaum. If that is the only free agents they sign minus re-signing those that are already on the Chargers I'm good. And yes, I'm re-signing Mack if he wants to come back and they can work something out. I'm good with going into the season with Mack, Tuli, Oweh, Phillips, and Kennard. 2027 Phillips can replace Mack.

If they do that then in the draft, I am looking at something like this:

    1st- McDonald, DT
    2nd- Eli Raridon, TE
    3rd- OG (not sure yet)
4th- OG (pick your flavor) mine is Llyod Cooper.
    1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
    2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
    3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
    4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Funny you mentioned Del'Shawn Phillips. I saw they used him at EDGE on several snaps in the Broncos game, and he looked like he had some explosiveness. Could be interesting to see if they give him more time in the rotation.

I just don't see a way cap wise to get Oweh, Phillips AND Mack unless Mack takes like $5m -and still upgrade OL like it needs to be done
If Phillips can set an Edge like Mack, I am okay upgrading but I think once you extend Tuli and have Phillips and Oweh - that might be a bit much
Chargers might need to go cheaper with the extra Edge if you bring back Oweh and extend Tuli than Phillips.

I don't see this either. Oweh is not like Poona, who wasn't going to get more than 10 mill a year. We are definitely looking at close to 20 mill a year, if not over that, for Oweh. The EDGE room would take a significant portion of the cap, and they're not that disruptive in every game that it would warrant allocating that much money to this particular group.

I think they can work it out. The 1st year cap hit usually is much less.

Honestly. I don't think they are going to sign an OG other than Zion. I believe they are going to go with those that are on the team now and let them fight it out next year in TC. I do think they will draft one. At center you sign Linderbaum and probably draft a center.

Yes, first year cap numbers are less - but if you do that with too many players, you have to pay the piper eventually. Plus, it would be a pretty cap heavy room in Edge. I am okay upgrading from Mack - but if Mack is making decent money and you need to extend Tuli plus Oweh and Phillips

The Chargers might need a veteran dude, around 4-6m, one year for the Edge. Dupree didn't work - try again.

Discussions that Oweh could cost $20M is exactly why we should sign very good FA IOL players and draft Edge in Rd1.

Its a good edge draft, per TPB reporting on experts reporting on analyses.

Making the edge room weaker would create downstream problems all through the secondary.

I do not. I don't believe Jim has anything to do with managing cap or talent evaluation beyond "Which would you prefer Robin? The player I'm taking or some turd I won't sign?"

Actually I think it's more like "If there's someone you like, I'll consider him"

Yeah, as I said, I'm not a proponent of signing Oweh long term. I wouldn't want to smell the stink on this forum if his sack and pressure numbers drop to his career average of around 6 sacks a year. Even with Tuli, he needs to be a constant pressure machine with double digit sack numbers to warrant the 30 mill a year he's likely to receive.

Oweh has been very good with the Chargers and he gives that bend and ability to get around the OTs that Mack and Tuli don't. So he is a good player to have opposite those two

He is going to get paid - and he did a good job with the Chargers. I am good bringing him back at the right price. I think it will be in that 16-18 range

I don't know why you would be nervous about this? Why not $15 mil plus incentives. He's not going to get $20 mil per year with guarantees of $60 mil. If so then you'd be right to let him go.
