Because they know they are hiring Clink and want to talk to other coaches to get a different perspective on the team from them. It's a good way to get information and intel on your own team from different coaches. They don't have that kind of chance often. It's pretty smart.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

That's totally a possibility. They could be looking for someone that has a track record of being a DC although Clink was co-DC with Minter at Michigan.Originally posted by jox g View Post

Was that supposed to be Slater and Zion?Originally posted by Velo View PostBeen listening to the Chargers Weekly podcast with Money Smith, Chris Hayre and Jahleel Addae.
KLS is going to have opportunities in McDaniel's offense with his speed. Ladd is going to be the biggest winner. Jahleel doesn't think they'll have to do much to the WR room, the talent is already there. Money says Tre Harris has big potential, compared him to Brandon Aiyuk. KA doesn't really fit, interesting. Money not sure about QJ in this offense. Money says teams might be reaching out to the Chargers for QJ, could bring some extra picks in this draft. Money sees possibly Pickens or Alec Pierce in place of QJ.
Slater and Bozeman were made for McDaniel's scheme, both use athleticism over size to gain advantage, OL will have move a lot more in MM's offense. Usually you wouldn't see an OT Alt's size in the scheme, but Alt is a freak and moves extraordinarily well, all three will thrive (health assumed). Bozeman and Becton not so much. They used MM's center in Miami, Aaron Brewer, 6-1/295 as an example of the type of player they want there. Linderbaum, 6-2/304, also.
Cuz if they said Bozeman, you should stop listening and burn the tape!Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

They have nothing good to say about QJ in this offense and discuss him being traded and not one of them were for picking up that expensive 5th year option. (17MIL).Originally posted by Velo View PostBeen listening to the Chargers Weekly podcast with Money Smith, Chris Hayre and Jahleel Addae.

not saying he is a definite fit but you'd think he would at least be discussed given his size (4.3skmething)
sloppy work by the usually thorough CWP"The best defense is more offense."

I listened to it as well. He said ALT and Slater are fine and will fit just fine. They mentioned Zion as well and said he will be a good fit because of his athleticism. They said both Boz and Becton are not good fits and will likely be replaced. They used Brewer as an example.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

I think Velo might have gotten confused or brain was saying one thing and typed something else. It happens.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
