Considering the injuries to the OL this past year, almost every single starter and primary backup besides Zion and Bozeman missed a lot of games this year.

Instead of the BEST, I hope, and as usual, I’m the only one, that Hortiz gets good quality Centers, Guards, and their backups versus shooting the damn WAD on one of these guys that is bound to get injured and leave us watching Groundhog Day again.

Need Mack for that veteran presence and need Oweh as well. Its not Mack's fault he gots double teamed in NE game. They knew the threat he was which left it open for Oweh to have the type of game he had. They didn't doubleteam him..Owehs quick and agile and Mack can still bring it..

How many playoff wins has Mack's veteran's presence won ever? Double teaming Mack these days completely takes him out of the game! We can do better. Even Oweh starting in his place is a better option at this point.

As opposed to Max Crosby getting double teamed and is a major wrecking force on most plays.

Well with the offensive coordinator situation we had, none, now on the other side, how many playoff wins has a person in prime as MAX is, how many playoff wins has he contributed to.

EG, that would be nice but I just think it’s too much spending on Center. The rest of the team suffers unless everybody has perfect health. Good luck with that pipe dream.

I think they get a deal done that is beneficial to both parties

Mack gets double teamed because opposing defenses consider him our most dominant pass rusher. That’s not the guy you cut.

Herbert is 27, the best player in this franchise and its not remotely close. Not easily replaceable.

Mack is 35, solid all round game still, 5 sacks...that is production we can replace younger and cheaper

we havent won a playoff game with Jim or Joe, arguably more their fault than Herbert. sounds like a full house cleaning is in order, a clean slate. dang I didn't see that coming!

To me: Mack is a strong edge setter, strong against the run, slightly less effective as a pass rusher than his prime, sub-par dropped in coverage. his prime is HOF caliber, slightly less does not mean not good. But edge get paid big dollars for sacks, thats just what the market says, not me. after 2 season of 5.5 and 6 sacks, I see his mark at $13-14M out of respect for his leadership and other traits.

Maybe he could stop blowing $100k a week on those player dinners and lets someone else pick up a check once in awhile to offset the reduction?

I think they will bring him back, like many - unless he says he doesn't want another run. I haven't heard him say anything either way - has he made comments about "next year"?

That's my thinking. i am fine with Mack back...at a fair price.

I am more interested in using cap space as wisely as possible, not 18 million for 5-7 sacks. We can get that out of a cheap rookie in a stacked Edge draft

Life goes on in the NFL and you cant get bogged down in sentimentality with veterans. Patriots were known for moving on over overpaying veterans and they had 6 Super Bowl wins, not zero playoff wins.
