It would be nice to see him pick up a 5th rnd pic as well. The Chargers are kinda sitting in no-man's land at #22 and there are not a lot of blue-chip players.

I am also thinking maybe it's just better if the let Zion and Oweh walk this year and continue to add mid free agents so the can get comp picks for next years draft. Just keep adding draft picks. The free agent market is so out of control atm, IMHO.
Based on that Popper article -- Johnson + Oweh could be close to $45m on an AAV basis. And you still haven't figured out OC - which puts you closer to $55

Biadasz - AAV 10-11 or Fortner
Chubb Ossai or Chaisson - 15
    LG - 10-12

I would add a RG as well for about the same price range.
      1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
      2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
      3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
      4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Half a year of production doesn't earn you #20m+. Mack is better than him (all-around ball player) and should only cost us $16m.

Mesidor or Parker is how you replace Oweh... at a much cheaper price.
It lets you spend FA money on quality FA guard and center. We must build this IOL pronto! The window is open.
We have a lot of good, young playmakers... QJ, Ladd, Harris, Hampton, Vidal, Gadsden.
Only a good OL sets them all free. You can go cheap at your own risk... you're only as strong as your weakest link.
Oweh had 10+ sacks in 2024 .... not just a last year thing.

Again, if Minter was still DC, then you could mess around with the D chemistry.

Parker, Tuli, Mack ... pretty much identical parts ... Parker being several notches below last year's MacK - he'll have hit the rookie wall when entering the playoffs..

Chargers should be around $85 to 86m
          plenty of money
still have to be smart about it and Zion at over 20 would not be smart
          Sign Seumalo
          Sign one of McGovern/Linderbaum/Bidasz
          Draft Ioane or Pregnon
Hopefully Alt and Slater are 100%

With these moves you have probably a top 5-10 OL overnight.

If there are no blue chip players at #22, who is going to trade up with the Chargers and give up their 2nd & 3rd? Nobody wanted to trade with the Chargers at #22 in last year's draft. Hortiz was on the phone trying find a buyer right up to the final second.

Not necessarily true. If the reports are true (Money Smith said it this week even), but the Chargers and the Eagles had a framework of a deal but the Chargers chose to draft Hampton

If true, Hortiz didn't feel what the Eagles were offering was better than Hampton, so it wasn't an offer he couldn't refuse. He'll probably have to draft the BPA again in April.

Do you think the Eagles wanted Hampton?

I think it was Jihad Campbell - who they ended up getting anyway.

If Zion and Linderbaum are equivalent in salary ... i'd take Linderbaum.
Put a rookie next to him,, the other starting guard...?

                      Chargers changed plan
Hampton was not supposed to be there

I have read in multiple places the Broncos were expected to draft Harmon at #20, Payton went with a CB instead.

That's why since we are trying to improve our oline, it's time to say goodbye to Zion and Mack. 20 million for Zion and 18 M for Mack is crazy talk.

You pay Oweh because he's in his prime and has the production to back it up.
