Yes, we do miss Ekkie's pass pro...but...it was clear they had to let him go...a lot of bad blood between Ek and the Bolt brass after he ahem, belly-ekked repeatedly about supposedly getting underpaid...

Right...they should have benched Pip in favor of Salyer at least a few games ago...at least try him out...

I think C up front but also have questions about Devlin and Hardwick. The IOL isn't bad every play but are bad far too often. Bozeman is the field captain of OL and adjustments on the field while the clock is running are his responsibility. Boze is a low average C at playing his position and well below at helping the OGs. The OL was clearly better with Linsley at C. Find a top vet C. FA/ trade Draft a high quality RG.. Give Devlin the boot if we aren't twice as good at pass pro and run blocking then.

Bleav wiith Money and Lo neal is a good listen this week, especially for those on here that seem to think coaching has notning to do with how bad this offense is

Matt “Money” Smith and Lorenzo Neal break down the Chargers’ blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The duo dives into what lies ahead, including a critical Thursday Night matchup against the Denver Broncos and the challenges of a short week. Lo shares the mindset the Chargers must adopt to turn things around and avoid losing four of their last five games. They also discuss what the team’s signature win has been.

Salyer was a terrible starting RG last year. They've been giving him a few snaps over Pip lately.

You could be right, but who supervises Devlin's day to day OL work? who needs to step in and fix any position group problem in the offense if the position coach isn't getting it done? imo its the OC that is responsible.

Besides the shit receiver route designs in that video clip showing Herbie basically needs to throw it straight at a DB and hope he doesn't know it, the number of times 5 blockers can't block 4 rushers, 7 can't block 5, etc. is horrific.

Ultimately, the OL, OC and HC are all responsible. But a few of these guys sucked with different coaches and different schemes. I think it is more of a lack talent/football IQ than anything.

Ultimately, this is what it boils down to. Coaching can cover up some deficiencies, but in the end you need talent to compete for a championship.

Thats the obvious answer. I dont think there is a soul here that would disagree.

In the mean time that doesnt mean you cant coach better what you have. One thing to look at might be doing the same things over and over again, with the same players, that clearly are not working.

Lol!! It's funny, because it's true. Double your Chris Joneses and Vita Veaes, but everyone else getting a paycheck should be able to just stay in the damn way of their 1 guy for 3 seconds instead of being backwards ice skated into Herbert. At some damn point personal pride should kick in.
