Maybe Lance will be sort of like a Colin Kaepernick under Harbaugh in SF as a 2nd QB where they will have some RPO type plays from the pistol formation using him, so he really gives them another running threat.

I disagree...I can see them using him in short yardage situations and some razzle dazzle at the goaline. If we see him start games then we're deep doo doo!

That's exactly how he got hurt. Maybe it keeps the Chargers from drafting a late round QB. That's about all I can think of.

On a podcast, they were talking about the Milton trade and the point was made, that for the Cowboys - it was better to give up the 5th and get back Milton and a 7th and one reason might be that they started scouting those late Day 3 QBs and UDFAs and didn' tlike anybody. Granted, the Chargers have Heinecke but maybe the Chargers just didn't like those prospects so Lance, albeit a bit more cap space - might be a better alternative -

When you see the actual cap for the Lance deal I bet it is closer to 2 million than than the "up to 6.2 million"

That is not all that different than you would pay a 22 or 23 year old developmental QB in the draft compared to the 24 year old Lance, and they keep the draft pick for other positions

It might be similar to a what if scenario if Herbert goes down for x amount of games and Lance is given the starts instead. So yeah, if Lance comes in for 8 games as a starter he would more than earn that $6.2 million.
