    Chark---one year deal
    Palmer---one year left
    QJ---is on notice in 2024
DD---is more of a specialist than a WR
Ladd---there have been concerns about durability
Fehoko---adds insurance and depth for 2025
Rice---adds insurance and depth for 2025

with so many question marks going forward in the WR room, both this year and next, it makes sense that they feel the need to keep 7...they are hoping that QJ and the younger guys emerge and hedging their bets in case the injury prone guys miss significant play time...

No big deal anyway. QB2 is the absolute last player we ever want to see in a game. He's on the bench to give Herbert a second pair of QB eyes. Stick is there 'cause JH likes and trusts his perspective.
a second pair of eyes? like scouting the cheerleaders on the sideline eyes?

if anyone is in position to understand what Herbert will deal with and to help Herbert in film breakdown and study it's Heinicke because he has actual real NFL experience, has played in the playoffs, has won with a bad team, and knows what it's like to lead comeback wins etc...Stick can go get a cup of coffee when those two discuss how to attack a defense because he has no understanding of the things they'll be talking about...

No...sorry, but QB2 is there to be ready to play if there is any kind of injury.....and when he is not in to help the team in any way possible...... keeping a QB who has no field vision and cannot pass accurately with any touch does not help ANYONE!

cutting him before sesson also saves money....if Stick is on the 53 when season starts then his contract is fully guaranteed

I'm familiar with the situation. I still think 6 is the max. We're juggling the roster a lot.
IMO Palmer, QJ, DD, Ladd are locks.

hard to believe anyone is as bad as stick at passing the ball..... stick should be a ooach or RB.......

yes, the whole of the 2.6mil would become guaranteed, he already has 1.4 mil guaranteed regardless if they cut him tomorrow...

just to put that into perspective the chargers are paying Taylor Heinecki 1.21 mil to back up Herbert this season...

Yeah, I know. Not a popular opinion but it's actually what I believe. So? Lets see what Hortiz / Harbaugh do.

Im impressed that he is mobile enough to buy time and is always looking downfield..... completing many clutch passes with pass rushers in his face or about to level him.....

Stick has NEVER done that even in pre season against 3rd and 4th stringers....
