QJ had a decent redemption game. that is a good sign.

Kimani is looking like a 6th round pick. RB's usually show their hand pretty quickly in the pros, so this is not a good sign. no Pacheco magic.

the defense is looking good, and not just against the bad teams on our schedule. in fact, if our offense could sustain more drives, they would be even better.

Kimani had 8 carries for 34 yards - a 4.3 average. Not bad at all. He does get crushed when he stays in to block on passing plays, though.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Kimani is the only back that’s multiple on our team. Defenses don’t know if the play is a pass or run when he’s in or at least that’s the way it should be. They run pass plays with Gus in but just rarely if ever throw it to him so defenses know they don’t have to worry about him. Kimani should be given a chance to be the back and Gus should be a complimentary piece for short yardage situations.

It’s another example of Greg Roman not maximizing the talent of the players we have. There is some sort of loyalty to Gus Edwards that is holding this offense back. He had his best game and he still looked like a goal line back, not a starting back.

I am still fuming about that game.
I’m not but I get it. The Chargers were scripted to lose that game. I knew going in that the game was going to be officiated in favor of the Chiefs. I was shocked at some of the calls they got but for the most part they were tiny ticky tack calls but the non calls for the chiefs were ginormous. They were able to get away with PI, intentional grounding, holding a ton, and blocks in the back over and over. I expected it, I didn’t think the nfl wanted to ruin their playoff and Super Bowl storylines with a loss to the lowly chargers.

Hopefully next year the Chargers with Harbaugh will be given a chance to get into the top with the chosen teams. The media loves Harbaugh so maybe it will make sense to give the Chargers some rub.

QJ redeemed himself IMO. He made a tough catch over the middle taking a huge hit and held onto the ball. He is learning to draw the PI, just as good as a reception and his 35 yd PI flipped the field and put us in place to go ahead . Caught another TD for 7.

Surprised JH missed JP on that bomb. He could have even under thrown him a little and still would have made the play.

The power football was great in the 1st 1/2. Nice to see us showing run and the D still cant stop us. All those 265 lb TEs make sense now.

This game was a real toss up as stats wise, these teams were practically identical in every category. The loss was tough but really happy the way they played.

i am not crushing the guy, i am just not seeing anything special on his runs. he feels like another "if there is a decent hole, i'll get some yards" kind of guy. no sizzle, no jukes, no vision (to cut back). the sample size is small, but i am not seeing it. as you mentioned, pass blocking is a worry. he gave up a horrible sack against the falcons.

One of the biggest postive of this game, we didn’t lose Herbie for the season “knock on wood”… I had flashbacks of him getting crushed by a middle rush and breaking his rib.

Yes and they were woefully flagrant. The Peter Puck penalties are the only ones that get called against KC.

Bosa had several pressures, hits and a sack and a half. Dude had a good game. The offsides was bullshit as he got back before the snap.

^ This...now that we found out that Smartt is an effective sideline target, I hope Roman loses all those lame calls to QJ on the sideline, and uses him for slants and crossers instead...and good point about Gus Bus and Vidal...
