I wonder if they signed him as insurance in case Najee has to go on IR or something like that...Hines was very productive, 2 punt return TDs, 2 kick return TDs, 10 rushing TDs, and 8 receiving TDs to his name, plus he's gone over 1,700 receiving yards for his career too...he was a very dangerous player before his injury, I wonder how much he has left in the tank?

Sounds like even the team hadn't been made aware of the seriousness of the injury until recently, that's not encouraging in the least...what a strange start to 2025, with Mike retiring and now this, it could end up being addition by subtraction like when a punctured lung pushed Herbert into a starting role prematurely back in 2020...

Are you saying Tyrod Taylor wouldn't have got us to the Playoffs? Didn't you heear Anthony Lynn's pressers?

We only missed the playoffs because we were forced to play a backup

All I've seen from anyone is that they can't say what day Najee will return to practice. To me that seems to imply that they expect him back.

I wondered if they were thinking he might be that 3rd down specialist back that they don't have in the RB room? Or if Rocket has not shown anything (still can't even practice, I think)

I wonder if they claw back Najee's guaranteed money if he never plays? he got $3.75M as a signing bonus, has $1.5M guaranteed base coming (total $5.25M guaranteed)

thats what I thought until the other day when Jim said he doesnt know IF he'll be back IN CAMP.

"In camp" - thats until September, isn't it?

Exactly. He says he doesn't know. To me it sounded like a version of "he's working through something" and "I'm not a doctor".
Jim Harbaugh doesn't make commitments regards a player's return from injury.

ps: The end of training camp is listed as Aug 8.

cautiously optimistic, hopefully he returns in time to start the season...

I wish he would have just said that. What I heard him say was “yeah, i don’t think he’ll even be back in camp at all”.
                    He freaked me out bro!

I thought Coach's comments sounded bad for the prospects of Najee's return. It was the first time it was hinted that he might miss the entirety of training camp. NFL week 1 seems 50-50 at best.

As a Hampton owner in a Dynasty football league this is good fantasy news for my team but I am hoping to have a productive Vet because I think it helps the team win games. Just missing camp time will likely affect how many touches he gets in the seasons early part. Opportunity for Hampton for sure.

If Harris ends up on the NFI list and isn't cleared when the 53 - man roster is set at the end of training camp , he'll have to miss at least the first four games of the season.

The team will have to decide his expected return and if they want to carry him on the 53 if he can't suit up. there's a half dozen inactive every week. That is - I don't know the NFI CBA rules, do they have to "clear" him to get him off current NFI status, that may not even be allowed, beats me.
