we'll see. bird had pretty good coverage on that TD he gave up. you have to credit the other team too. it's not all just SD beating themselves. houston is a very good team and deserve credit.

It's like watching Downfield Donnie without the pass covering ability!

Houston averaged 4.3 ypc in the rushing game. That's where Bird's primary tackling responsibility is. Didn't look to me like Bird was making tackles down the field while everybody else making making them up close to hold the average down.

And on coverage, exactly who was covering their man close tonight? Pags was playing the soft D again. The bend and bend and bed until you lose version.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Bird and Marshall were both abused in converage by Schaub. He kept going back to that well over and over and it kept paying dividends. And yes, Bird looked like Downfield Donnie for the most part. We're gonna need a healthy Te'o and a new nickle back if we don't want a repeat of that game.

did anyone see the collision between Gilchrist and Wright that took them both off the field for awhile? Then Addae came in at S and was abused. Not sure who replaced Wright during that time, but this could have coincided with Schaub becoming more effective all of a sudden.

I saw the collision, & at that moment, I thought we were toast without those guys. Then I saw both back in shortly thereafter & they seemed fine. However, in hindsight, maybe they weren't "fine"....lol.

Wright was only out one play.

Ok, but was he 100% after that? Also, he was prolific at hurting WRs during preseason- why couldn't he take one out on MNF? Taking out Andre Johnson or their TE could have won the game for us
