Tackles are an overrated stat, as you all know.

In all seriousness, I like Byrd - as a backup. He's a tryhard who will make some plays, but he shouldn't be exposed out there as much as he was. Te'o get healthy.

You and I see this the same Tweety Bird was flying all over the place and racked up a lot of tackles, but the majority of them he was chasing somebody down, now if you want to praise someone for tackling you need to look at Butler he was reading an attacking when he was tackling, he was meeting the runner at or near the line of scrimmage, not chasing out of position like Tweety Bird

I still like Bird. He makes plays. Others we have had have missed plays 7 to 29 yards past the LOS and at least Bird makes those tackles. He is a young player still and solid depththat is exposed now especialy when his front three do not keep him clean.

Bird made a stop on 4th and 1. I'm not sure any other Charger actually prevented a first down on 3rd or 4th.

He may have gotten the tackle, but that play was all Liuget and Geathers blowing up the line and penetrating into the backfield.

True dat. The defensive line really makes (or doesn't make) all the plays. (Well, unless somebody else misses a tackle.) Reason why we need a better noseguard. Cam can't be the full-time starter - at least not yet.

My post was just in response to somebody bashing on Bird and talking about how good Butler was.
