I worry about a player who missed all of camp playing before he is in football shape and bulling a fricking groin the first time he makes a major cut?
I've had the same thought the past few days. I know Najee has been a tank so far in his career, but this situation seems different.
I think they ease him along slowly to start the season. I think Hampton gets the majority of touches. Overall that's great - keeps both guys fresh for the long run.
This would be a great opportunity for the kid to be a star. Kind of like when Herbert was thrust into his first game. We never looked back from Herbert. I would like to never look back with Hampton
I suspect that everyone that bemoans him are indeed just unhappy about a balanced offensive philosophy in general.
Is that really what you suspect? You think that most of the bemonaing about Greg Roman is coming from people who love all the offensive success we had last year but hate that it comes from such a well-balanced offensive philosophy?
Oh my. I’m afraid your sleuthing abilities may be off just a teensy weensy little bit.
Well, there goes my hope that Harris or KLS start over QJ, at least for this game.
KLS had a 40% reception rate, 4 REC in 10 targets over 4 games. 2 huge ones elevated his YPC to 27.3.
Trey had. 60% reception rate, 6REC in 10 targets over 3 games. His last game he showed the progress after a late(r) start.
I wouldn’t over-worry on one of them vs the other … they have different games but both have legit claim to some targets and both can catch the damn ball. Trey has arguably superior hands (not saying KLS doesn’t have good hands).
KLS obviously faster at getting behind the secondary

What else could it be...? We cut/traded away our only offensive play makers... due to cap. We were forced to move an inadequate RT to RG... a position he was even worse at. The bandaid we applied to the TE position was hurt all year long. And the RB's we brought in were often hurt. The QB missed most of the pre-season (and offensive install)... he limped along for half of the season. Even through all of this, we improved from 5-12 to 11-6.
You wanted Greg Roman fired before he was ever hired. You have pre-conceptions you'll need to address.
Now that we have more than 2 playmakers on offense, why don't we hold judgement on Roman until at least mid-season.
I noticed you haven't started "Fire Greg Roman (Part 3)" yet. Better hurry up... season starts in a few days.

Not too sure we're all in that camp. Folks have discounted Greg's inadequate 2024 offense based on roster ... we shall see what he can produce with most of the off-season focused on giving him more. I kinda need to see it, personally.
Minter got us to 11-6, thats most of our views right now. Greg can change our opinions, I'm open minded.

I suspect we'll have an idea pretty quickly as we'll face Spags and very good Denver defense in our first 3 games. Raiders should be better as well. The offense will have to hit the ground running

In 2024 the Chargers were 19th in passing offense and 17th in rushing offense, but scored the 11th most points, 402, 17 more than the Chiefs, but 23 fewer than the Broncos.

I suspect though the defense will be the strength of the team through most of the season.
