Maybe we're better at the RB position this year. But the reason we lost 6 games against good opponents is because our passing game and running game stunk
in those games. More importantly the passing game could not get it done once the run game failed.
We lacked O talent and the QB was hurt in '24. That's a fact.

Run blocking plays to our OL's strength. Allegedly. Let's take it for a test drive with Omarion at the wheel.

Likewise Herbert is healthy and has a bunch of receiving upgrades at WR, TE and RB.

Let's play 2025 football. Go Bolts!

      hmm, good question Mayor

I don't think any of them will have a BIG impact but I'll order my guess as:
      1. OG
      2. TH
      3. KLS

        I'll take Gadsden.

Sport magazine says the Slater injury should lower the expectations for LA this season, but will it really?

The QB missed most of the pre-season (and offensive install)... he limped along for half of the season. Even through all of this, we improved from 5-12 to 11-6.

You wanted Greg Roman fired before he was ever hired. You have pre-conceptions you'll need to address.
Now that we have more than 2 playmakers on offense, why don't we hold judgement on Roman until at least mid-season.
I noticed you haven't started "Fire Greg Roman (Part 3)" yet. Better hurry up... season starts in a few days.
Don't worry - when they start slowly on offense (which they will - I expect an ugly 1st half) the 'fire Greg Roman (parts 3,4,5,6 . . . )' group will be in full cry . . . . . . . . . For myself I intend to give him 2 or 3 games to get everything sorted out before I fire him !

3 games is reasonable. NO Fans were booking SB rooms after 2 weeks last year.

I feel like we're in for a bumpy start of the season - which is OK, as long as we don't get too far down. I have confidence that our coaching staff will get things corrected / adjusted.

                I'd prefer to finish strong anyway . . . . . . .

If everyone is healthy we're not going to see a whole lot of KLS. I'm going to say Gadsden since our TE group has not been the
best receiving option for Herbert. Gadsden should see some action there.

The matchup I will be watching is Mack vs Simmons. Mack needs to have a big game against Simmons. I hope he abuses Simmons.
                    ADOPTED BOLT: Quentin Johnson

                    Season: WK1
                    REC: 5
                    YARDS: 79
                    TDs: 2

Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

I expect Ladd to get doubled and will be watching for Herbert to NOT force it to Ladd.
I trust JH to go through his progressions quickly and find the open targets.
Wood mentioned 12 personnel, and I expect a heavy dose of that. Looking for Conklin to start cooking early.

                        Of course it lowers expectations.

Former journeyman OL turned pundit Ross Tucker opined this today too in picking the Chiefs as his first "best bet" of the season to cover the spread.

Losing your All Pro LT in training camp is potentially a big blow, unless you have another All Pro caliber OT who can step in and take over seamlessly. This is what is over-looked by the pundits when assessing the impact of losing Slater. The impact is not to LT, it is to RT. And while Pipkins is definitely a downgrade to Alt, Pipkins is a veteran who has a lot of experience playing RT, and is part of an OL group that has some cohesion going into their 2nd season together. In that context, losing Slater may not/hopefully will not be the disaster that it looks like on paper to pundits who don't know the Chargers very well.
