I was thinking about this as well. Jonathan Taylor gashed the Broncos for 165 yds on 25 carries. I'd be happy with 75 each yds from Najee and Hampton.

No brainer, IMO. And there is an argument to make that he's the very best defensive player on the team. Probably not quite as good as Derwin but it's close.

When targeted he's allowed a meager 52.8 QB rating. He easily leads the teams in tackles. He's got an interception, and two sacks on just five blitzes...

I wasn't going to buy new tires, but my Tesla just kept nagging and nagging me until I capitulated . . . . . . . . . bad enough to have a wife to (constantly) remind me of all the things I need to do, now I've got a car that does the same thing . . . . . . . . . sigh .

I share your hunch. He's incredibly vital to this game. He can chase sideline to sideline with the best of them, and we need that when facing Nix. DH can blitz a bit and God knows we need some pressure however we can get it. He's also stout versus the short pass game, which the Broncos like to feature. The dude does everything well, and the drop-off to the next-man up would likely be quite ugly even if Wax has good raw potential.

Going into this game with two primary linebackers being Dye and Wax... I shudder to think.

Daiyan is not only stellar...he's a vital cog.

Makes me laugh no matter what exactly it means. I'd guess it reflects the sentiment of a Denver fan who wants badly to trust the Donkeys to come out on top...but can't persuade himself it will happen.

I expect that the Chargers will game plan to exploit Denver's run defense. It is a copycat league. Denver is in a tough spot because they are likely game planning to stop the Chargers passing attack. Hampton and Harris to some extent could likely have a big a day.

I want so badly for you to be right on this, but I'm doubtful.

When was the last time our Chargers really hurt an opponent thru the run game? A few big plays now and then, but nothing sustained. 3 out of 4 runs don't even get 3 yards...last year and through two games this season! I don't think even our coaches really believe we can win that way with our current personnel. Plan seems: Run enough to keep opponents honest...and go seize games through the air.
