    I said backup, not starter.

Nevertheless, I think we have a lot of priorities higher than spending precious capital on both a starter and backup Center.

If Zion doesn’t sign, they will need 2 new starting IOL, in addition to Center.

So, sure, I would like a backup center better than Boze too, but where we disagree is that as high a priority as other positions to invest limited capital.

Has Zion been solid this season? He had a better grade last year of 64 according to our friends at PFF lol....which, i dont know how. He has 3 games to go yet.
I dont mind bringing him back. I hope we draft or sign a solid OC and RG. I also dont think Zion will break the bank. But he is an average OG.
I'm just going to talk about the things that make him a sure fire re-sign in my book...

      Durability--he is a rock

play strength--he routinely tosses bigger players around

run blocking--Zion is damn near elite at run blocking and this offense wants to run the ball

pass blocking--has improved a lot and he's still not maxed out his potential as a pass blocker

recognition--has improved a lot and still improving

given his age, intelligence, and durability and the fact we all know that it can take several years for offensive lineman to reach their full potential, plus he's a team guy that doesn't draw attention to himself, to me this is a no brainer, Zion has to be one of the top priorities this coming offseason...

To my eyes, I think Zion is playing better this year.
