But think about it. Norv would have burned our two timeouts in panic mode and left the Eagles with time on the clock. No doubt in my mind about it. They would have had one or two timeouts and probably 45 seconds left after our FG if Norv was still around.

If he hadn't done anything, though, McCoy calls timeout 2 seconds left, and they don't even get that 7 second prayer they were left with.

Kelly was fortunate that the Chargers only got 2 extra yards from his timeouts. In theory, the odds are better to not give the kicker those extra yards for a closer field goal than it is for a miracle desperation lateral play. That was some Norv-esque use of timeouts IMO.

Hey how's that Turner offense in Cleveland doing now?Prediction:
Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

I didn't get why Dierdorf was so baffled at Chip Kelly calling those timeouts at the end of the game. Dierdorf acted like it was beyond comprehension, but he was clearly trying to preserve some time to give his offense a prayer after the FG.
Of course, it is Dierdorf.
We can just wait until there are 2 seconds left and call it...then they don't get the ball back at all.
I do understand that it did give us a chance to run the ball a few times...but that was the position they were in.
It's not as if Philip has never fumbled a snap trying to set up a game winning field goal. (oh wait)."...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
