When we looked at the 2025 sched this time last year, KC x2 and the Eagles looked daunting. The Chargers won all 3 games.

When I look at the 2026 schedule, I see a Chargers win every week.

Nobody saw Daniel Jones coming at the beginning of last season, he was at his peak when the Colts played at SoFi. Then he blew up his Achilles and the Colts had no replacement, they had to sign some 44 yo guy off his couch. Imagine if the Chargers lost Herbert, I have no confidence Lance could win a game. The Colts might've been in the Super Bowl otherwise.

He predicted we'd go 9-8 the past 2 seasons and miss the playoffs. We went 11-5 and made the playoffs both years. By advanced math, that means we win 12 games this year.

I feel good about our offense with McDaniel as OC and a hopefully healthy OL. Defense is the question mark with O’Leary who was greener than Minter when he became a DC in the NFL (one year in college vs 9 years in college). So that’s where I can see us losing games this season.

Schedules that look tough on paper often turn out to be paper tigers because, as I wrote earlier, things change so fast in the NFL. The Eagles, Commanders, Bills & Chiefs were the final four in the 2024-25 season. Going into the 2025-26 season they looked like maybe the best teams in the league. But the Chiefs and Commanders didn't come close to making the playoffs and the Eagles were eliminated in the 1st round. I believe the Chiefs are going to be a .500 team this season and the Patriots, Seahawks and Broncos are going to take a step back. The Ravens look like a .500 team also IMO. All of the sudden that gauntlet of a schedule looks pretty tame.
