And in the process you've lumped me in with the Freeney-is-God crowd. Not a very careful reading on your part. I have publicly excoriated both sides in this argument as ridiculous to the extreme.

My comment is valid and I stand by it. Do you contend otherwise, irrespective of what Mr Freeney has accomplished in San Diego or Mr Phillips in Denver?

A few. I'm sure you've read how none of Freeney's hurries matter because so and so completed 70% (or shots at the other teams QB/WR), so what effect did they have? And the Phillips is dominating with all those meaningful sacks is in many threads.

I agree, but that argument (d isn't playing well therefore...) was used to discount Freeney and any contribution he made. But that same argument doesn't seem to hold for Phillips by those same people. Pretty interesting, right?
