I understand what you're saying about the drama. But on the other hand, why are people flooding your mailbox? All this talk about requests to ban and e-mails about who is posting what seem to be just as bad as anything he or his foils were doing. Just drama of a different variety. Big boys in here. Should be able to police ourselves.

I don't know what the nature of your conversations with him were, so that could make a difference. But from where I sit, and I can't believe I'm writing this, I think the ban is unjustified. Certainly the length of it. If someone wants to state, defend and re-state opinions they should be able to. If they are dismissive and condescending toward others, that'll all sort itself out in the wash. If there is a lack of civility or people are being totally disrespectful or posting kiddie porn or whatever, then yeah, ban em. But as much as I had problems with this guy's opinions and weak argumentation, I think he was generally a decent guy. Just horribly arrogant and misguided. Like Den. ;-)

Well i appreciate your honesty. But im sticking to the decision.

With each day the board became less about Chargers debates/discussions or conversations and more about either mocking Yubaking (I too am guilty) or being flooded by his continuos posts or diatribes saying the same things over and over again.

The posting in here became extremely similar to what ESPN had become at the end when it was just continuos trolling and the masses just responding to or defending against the trolls and completely getting away from quality discussions.
Good post, I am as guilty as anyone. Fleet has a tough job trying to keep this board both relevant and vibrant, attracting new members while keeping current members happy. What a headache. Still, don't get the flooding Fleets inbox with complaints unless the attacks were personal. Despite it all, I did think that Yuba wasn mean spirited, at least not intentionally and echo OIP's bummer. Maybe should have had 1 dedicated thread with a warning "this thread is going to shit" Not being privy to the discussions between the mods and Yuba makes any judgment on the ban and severity impossible.

Who cares about this? Let's stick to talking about Yuba.

(Sorry...I just had to. Had to).

Id like us to move on. Theres some that love the drama. Im assuming a couple were sad when we let BellySmalls go as well. But its just impossible to contain the infection to one thread. Especially when every thread has been contaminated. The work of doing that is a pain in the ass. I agree that Yuba was not mean spirited as well. I honestly had some good discussions with him. But he also said he would keep his posts on topic. And that didnt happen in more threads than i can remember. Smart guy with a lot of passion for his beliefs. But not able to contain his passion to the point it was having a very negative impact on the health of the forum. We need guys that are not on board with the Chargers and staff..moves etc. But when the discussion of those opinions becomes the main storyline of the forum its a problem.

I could have changed our motto to "The Powderblues...where you go to watch the drama surrounding Yuba"

That was our indentity up until yesterday. We are moving on from that identity.

            Cheers.
