They can wait till next year to draft aQB imo. I don't think there is urgency. Whether it is this year or next year....it will cost a lot to trade up to draft a QB high so get the other possitions now. Rivers will play three more years at least.
I don't care about Jones 1 way or the other: just pointing out the media talking heads who imply the Chargers are desperate to find a quality backup behind Rivers and will panic until they sign a "name" the media feels comfortable with- have no clue how the ownership and management of this team historically operate when it comes to developing and paying QBs.Keeping an expensive developmental QB on the roster isn't in their DNA.Rivers is THE GUY and face of the franchise- until he isn't.

The Bolts should know by now whether or not Jones has a future as the starting qb for the Bolts. Any decision on bringing in another qb is based on that knowledge.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Why do you say that? He got a K with a solid pedigree and a Pro Bowl OC. 2 of our biggest weaknesses solidified.

TT is quietly having a really good off-season. If you want craziness the Rams are right down the road, personally I think they will eventually implode with all the "STAR" players they are going after. Chargers will have another year in the Lynn system and are filling holes with value acquisitions.

Some writer just gave us an A grade for the division, B for the rest of the league.

He got a Center, a really good Center. A really hard to root for Center.

And a kicker that might or might not be good.

And On the DL and LB, he uh...

Geno Smith signed for one year with the Bolts. No details. Blah.

It's not sexy, but C is the 2nd most important OL and we have dramatically upgraded it. Really helps fix our pass protection problems vs teams like KC, who gave us fits with all their stunting up front. It could also really upgrade the running game, which would make the O a lot harder to defend. Speed receivers who can stretch the field with a strong running game are very difficult for defenses to handle. But whether you like to throw or run, blocking the play is where it all starts. Just need to get Ekeler to step up his dreadful blitz pickup and we could be the best offense in football.

As far as D goes, 15th in yards allowed, but 3rd in points allowed. 3rd in pass D, which is more important than the run D ranking since passing yards exceed rushing yards (allowed) by a large margin. If we don't upgrade the D, we will be OK. I would like to add some help, because of how close they are to being a dominant group, but even if we don't, the improvements from the younger players on D should suffice, provided the offense also continues to improve.

Wont be hard for me. I got nothing against Pouncey. He was a leader on his team. Sturgis has been pretty good but I don't like this Geno Smith signing AT ALL.

Don't like the Smith signing at all, but he filled the two biggest needs on the team at C and K and extended Heyward. Let's see what the draft brings and what the final roster looks like - but it's a solid, though not real sexy offseason.

DL and LB are rich in this draft, seems smart to cover other areas via FA. But I can be disappointed if I try.

I don't think L.Jackson is still there when we draft, but if he is, trade back!

If the plan is to take Jackson...lets hope that Geno never makes it to camp... because we also drafted another pocket passer in the 3rd round.
