    Is Marcedes Lewis still available?

He's older too, but he was servicable last season in Jax.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

No. He had already signed with the Packers prior to HH going down.

Ive been thinking that if the Chargers don't get a decent replacement for HH we won't be that bad off because I see the chargers running a lot of 4 wr sets and using a TE on running plays. Think about it with Allen and both the Williams and then Benjamin on the field at the same time someone will always be open. In fact I think they will be dangerous in a 4wr set. Hell I would even run out of a 4 wr set also and spread the defense out.

Chances are 1 of those WRs will injured at any given time, limiting ability to count on 4 WRs sets much.

I don’t think Telesco signed Green as a backup/replacement for Henry.....he is primarily a blocking TE who will catch the occasional pass.....

Trade for Gronkowski? What would it take, and is it worth it.

Not worth it. Star TE is a luxury, not a need. Rivers has enough weapons. Look for Mike Williams to step up big with more Henry's catches available. Ekeler to get more catches, Gordon too. Not to mention Virgil Green who will now get more.

Keenan Allen is more value at WR than a TE would be(even Gronk), he has developed chemistry with Rivers and he will explode two years removed from surgery.

I would much rather us copy the Patriots model then trade with them and get fleeced.

The Bolts need to save their money to resign their own stars.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

As I figured....near min offer is my guess...which for a vet of his years is still good change. I think he stabilizes the loss of Henry...he still is effective for certain situations. Part time player with ability to shield defenders still adds value plus he knows the system in and out. Im ok with it.

The OTAs must have revealed the TEs as limited.

Who knows. This may be old news. Chargers may have contacted Gates when this first happened and just now we are reading about it. And the contact may just have been, hey you represent Gates, while we are on the phone, what are his chances of playing for us this year?
