Texans’ Cierre Wood on being Manti T’eo’s roommate at Notre Dame, fake girlfriend

Texans rookie running back Cierre Wood has unique personal insight into the much-discussed life of San Diego Chargers rookie linebacker Manti T’eo.
How?
The duo were roommates at Notre Dame.
“I knew him inside and out really,” said Wood, during a media interview Monday at Reliant Stadium.
He added: “Everybody asks me about T’eo. It’s something that I expected was going to happen. I got asked on the street a couple of times. I expected it from the locker room and what not.”
Wood said questions about T’eo regularly focus on his infamous girlfriend, instead of what the 2013 second-round pick was like as a linebacker for the Fighting Irish.
“His (game) tape speaks for itself. I really don’t get questions about his athletic abilities,” Wood said. “More of the questions are on the things that surrounded him the most, the main reason he was in the limelight as far as the whole girlfriend situation, that’s what I get asked. As far as his talent, he was a second-round pick. That speaks for itself.”
The Texans rookie said he heard T’eo’s conversations with his fake girlfriend and never questioned the legitimacy of the talks.
“It was more along the line of, if I came in here with a goldfish and said, ‘This is my goldfish, Larry.’ You guys are going to go like, ‘OK.’ It was more along the lines of that,” Wood said. “I would come over to ask for a controller and he’d be like, ‘Come talk to my girl.’ It was on the computer screen and it was blank. I really don’t care. I heard someone talking, so I introduced myself: ‘Hi, I’m Cierre. How are you doing? Nice to meet you,’ and just went on about my business.”Go Rivers!Comment

Well, the simple fact that it's another day makes him "closer than he's ever been" (since the injury). I still say this is like one of those high-ankle sprains, or nagging hamstring type of injuries.
