Good signing, as almost everyone has said. Now, we need to lock up Tutu (shouldn't be too difficult) and Reggie Williams (which might be an issue). Not sure what the plan is with Clary, despite all the posts "proving" this or that. LOL!

Not sure either of those guys are worth more than vet min contracts. I like Tutu, but he's a ST'er pretty much. Nothing wrong with that, but let's not overpay. We will definitely draft another WR I suspect, maybe 2.

Reggie Walker is a bit better in that he can play some defensive snaps, but he's not exactly irreplaceable either. I would actually prefer we draft an ILB that is more adept to playing every down. Who knows maybe miracles do come true and Mouton can be that guy.

Which will sky rocket his price tag and is exactly the opposite of what would be accomplished by extending him now. Again, you can add in injury protection to contracts.

If I'm Dunlap, I would be open to an extension for security, but would not accept any extension with (much) injury protection. If Dunlap has to give injury protection, might as well wait a year.

Those were different circumstances IMO. To begin with Gaithers had those red flags coming in. Not to mention that they had a desperate GM that gave him whatever he wanted.

I also think Dunlap is a different player. He played through injuries. He could have shut it down after his second concussion, but from all accounts he wanted to keep playing. Everything I've read about him personally seems like he's a team guy. The glaring red flags about him aren't there like they were for Gaithers.

Dunlap's issues were always performance based with Philly. He clearly improved as the year went on and really performed at a VERY high level particularly in run blocking which was his biggest issue. Shit he ended up as the top graded run blocker on PFF.

The successful teams in the NFL continuously extend their own players at reasonable rates. You don't want to gamble in FA or the draft when you already have a successful player that you know fits your system. That's my take on Dunlap at least and I think the team can protect itself vs. injury in whatever contract structure they use.
