I wasnt a big fan coming out. But i drafted Trent last year in one fantasy league and Brown had a couple nice games for me. He actually looked explosive hitting holes last season. Probably trying to step it up for a contract. It worked. Its a bit high imo but we needed to upgrade the backup role and i think we did that. I was prepared to see us spend a 3rd or 4th on a RB in the draft.Originally posted by oneinchpunch View PostFor me the biggest knock was that he ran too upright(seriously).

I really like this move by Telesco.
Some of you guys are scratching your heads about spending this much for a "third" running back. I see Brown's role differently. I think he is a much better runner than Woodhead. To me, Brown is the #2 RB and Woodhead is the #3 third down specialist. We are a little small at the position, but that really is a nice trio of running backs.
Great move by Telesco.

I would hope most here knew that this was the RB breakdown.Originally posted by Yubaking View PostI really like this move by Telesco.

Good signing...hopefully Ryan Mathews builds off of this past year...and now he has a guy who can truly spell him like turner did for LT (while hopefully prolonging Matthews career of a bruising style of running a little while longer). If Matthews shows he can stay healthy enough to give the Bolts 2 solid years...then they'll likely try to re-sign him. It's always nice to have another solid option if that doesn't work out though, no? Enter Donald Brown...who can run and catch equally pretty solidly. It also spells Woodhead (our true 3rd down RB) as well.
Now if the Bolts can try to sign DT Pat Sims or a 2 yr stop gag like DT Randy Starks & CB Tarell Brown or CB Corey Graham...the Lightning Bolts will be in business. Furthermore, if they could extend rivers contract and add more cap for this year and go after a guy I was hoping would become available in Demarcus Ware...SD's draft will be icing on the cake. That's my pipe dream...Last edited by X-man; 03-11-2014, 08:43 PM.

Really like the move. Our offense is build On our running game control the clock and we will run more no huddle with our new coordinator I believe he fits perfect. I did like what Mathews did last year but we found out what our offense is without a starting RB versus the Broncos and They wern't Good last year On D.
Control the clock is what we do best he should help...Last edited by rikardo; 03-11-2014, 08:56 PM.

I don't see these numbers as all too high for a backup RB who has proven he can carry a load if necessary (and it will be necessary, it's the nature of the position). Let us remember this is 2014 and at the rate the cap inflates, I think this is a value. backup load carry type guys are always a priority.Originally posted by Bolt-O View PostMike Garafolo @MikeGarafolo 15m
RB Donald Brown's deal with SD: $3.25m SB, $6.75m in base salaries over 3 years, $500k roster bonus in 2016. Total of $10.5m over 3.
