Feeney is more accomplished than Q Berry.

He was better in college and has a year of starting. I don't know who is better long term, but right now, Feeney is.

Sorry, just weird to think Feeney is better at anything after last season. But, I'm very geeked to see what the new season brings, and I can totally see Feeney at center. He will have to convince me he can play it well, but go him.

Well, apparently the Bolt coaches see some upside in Feeney at C...or is this just the "being position flexible" schtick? Or is it a cover for moving Lamp to LG? We shall see...

I'm not big on Scho either. not sure why he escapes scrutiny, to be honest. maybe i just don't know how to assess OG talent.

                  our new Center Pouncey
was playing at an all world level.

The rest of the line followed his lead
                  and frankly overachieved.

                  Then the wheels came off,
with a clear dropoff in Pouncey's performance.

As if we could not sense it otherwise,
                  today Pouncey stated straight up
                  that they got worn down
as the season got to its late stages.

Look for smarter pacing this year...it's a marathon.
Wow. That is really, really disappointing. How can the offensive line get worn down late in the season? What does this say about conditioning, training, toughness? A good OL imposes its will on other teams and wears them down. Aren't these professional athletes? I cannot think of one dominating offensive line in the history of the NFL that lets players take games off because they are 'worn down'

Scho allowed 4.5 sacks last year; Feeney allowed 6.5. So, Scho is a little below average for his position, but not as bad as Feeney...

Don't forget there are two parts to playing OG - the other part is run blocking and Feeney is much better at that. I beginning to think Lamp will take over in the LG position so Feeney will be the backup OG unless he can beat out Scho.

I agree. I've been watching NFL football since the early fifties and I don't remember hearing anything like this before. But, I believe it because I watched this OL go downhill at seasons end. Somethings not right?

Pouncey may have been speaking for himself. The OL physical conditioning was on a league par or better. We have a quality S&C coach + OL coach Meyer is a former S&C coach. I expect it was nervous strain from working his 1st yr with a new group that included two trainees. They may nave been putting in extra hrs trying to get their act together.
Regardless, Pouncey, OL teammates & coaches have an experienced group perspective going forward.
